Looking for a used car for my parents for their back up car and the prices RGMG! Father had an absolute MINT Toyota that was hit by a new driver and written off. This car needed to be seen in terms of condition but such is life.

The prices for everything is absurd still in my opinion which I think is being exasperated by a lot of US buyers coming here and buying up everything for cheap.

apparantly it was extremely fishy tasting. Fortunately my celiac disease prevented me from needing to taste it to find out for myself.

I've had anchovy pizza in Italy and I thought it was great. Then again it was in Cinque Terre, a region where you can see the fisherman actively catching them, so they were exceptionally fresh.

This was in Genoa. I'm sure it was great if you like them, it was a nice restaurant . My wife likes fish, just not super fishy tasting ones.

Anchovy pizza is definitely a thing here and is somewhat popular. Cripes I hated those things when I delivered them back in the day.

Anchovies on pizza are fantastic but everyone in my family hates them so I rarely get to partake.

Taco Tuesday at Taco Time Northland Mall, then DDR at the arcade there was the high school jam. That mall was never the same after the arcade became a Tim Hortons.

It is a shame we don't have sit-down family pizza restaurants anymore. The old Pizza Hut restaurants were great for families, and even the dad could order a beer for himself.

Incoming complaint about the Medical system!

I had to get a tiny little procedure done, minor incision by my shoulder, no big deal.

So I hop up onto the table and the Doctor instructs me to turn my head and I feel this tiny little needle go in and my head just whips around!

"What was that?"

Doc: "Oh, just a little local anesthetic. Tiny little needle, you probably barely even felt it!"

Thats not the point dude. Injectable anesthetics make me sick, like violently ill. Thats why I indicated that on the intake form and I specifically stated 'No anesthetic.'

Doc: "But...I have to make a small cut, its going to hurt a little."

And I said that I understand that and was willing to suck it up. That little anesthetic? Now I'm going to be puking my guts out for days.

Whats the point of even bothering with the intake form if you're just going to ignore it? I knew there was going to be a small cut, I knew it was going to hurt a little and I said that was all well and good.

For curiosity sake... what pizza places do a passable anchovy pizza? I don't think I've noticed it as an option to the handful of places I've gone to, but maybe I'm just not observant enough?

Before that we had Mother's Pizza

Great family sit down place.

I mean you can go to Boston Pizza if you need a family place, there are also small independent places, Bella Roma for example (haven't been there in years).

It could be worse.

Al Bundy went to the hospital, they were supposed to make a circular incision, instead he got a circumcision!!

Starlight Pizza in Acadia. They bake the anchovies right in! Oh...so good!

I remember conning my wife on that one, she 'hated' anchovies when in really she just hated 'the idea' of anchovies. Then we had one of those pizzas and...

"What is this crunchy, salty morsel of Mana from Heaven?!? It's Godly!!!"

That my dear, are really good anchovies. Now she got all her gear together to make homemade pizza and anchovies are a staple.

I'm largely annoyed because it was this tiny, minor little thing that I almost didnt even care about and now its going to have some fairly serious consequences, my entire weekend is screwed over something that should have been completely innocuous.

I mean, they should read the form and check for drug allergies before administering a drug. That should be standard.

My wife is really, really allergic to penicillin (like anaphalaxis) and has been prescribed it multiple times by professionals who have that allergy in their intake forms/system. Eg when she had her wisdom teeth out.

She could have died from taking that. This stuff should be taken more seriously.

at one time in my life I worked in the medical profession doing minor surgeries.

I was poking a bit of fun.

Locke got it

I agree it is completely unacceptable, but one wonders if it arises from under staffing or case load.

regardless I am happy Locke is still able to quip away on CP

Yeah, so for me, its not the end of the world, I guess my major Gear Grinder stems from 'not reading the intake form' and the fact that the procedure was so minor and the pain likely to be so minimal that I didnt want to suffer the days of hell required for something as trivial as anesthetic for this stupid thing.

I know it makes me sick, if its a major procedure and anesthetic is required, well, thems just the breaks of the game and I just have to suck that up. But for something this minor?

I told them not to do it. Very specifically.

The incision was so minimal! You dont need to 'dull the pain' for that! I've had paper-cuts worse than that!

Oh man, it's been so long I'm not sure I remember. It's entirely possible I haven't had anchovies since moving to Calgary so may not even be one of the placers here. But if it was it would almost certainly be one of the independent places rather than the chain restaurants. I did work at a pizza joint for a few summers as a teenager (that was a loooooong time ago ) and would routinely make them for myself.
