About an hour ago I started getting between 10 and 20 spam emails per minute. They're mostly account sign up confirmation or newsletter signup confirmation emails. I've been reporting them as spam to gmail, and now 99% of them go to spam immediately instead of my inbox, but still quite annoying. I wonder if/when this will stop.

I looked this up, and you may want to check your card statements or any accounts where your cards are accessible (amazon, etc). There was a post on reddit where someone reported this happening and it turns out they were sending dozens of spam emails to mask legitimate purchase emails as the scammers had gained access to their amazon account and were making purchases.

Thanks, I just read the same reddit thread I think. My CC was compromised a couple of weeks ago, and I just got the new card. I've only updated my payment info on a couple of the recurring monthly payments so far, so I would be surprised if the new one is compromised already. I guess if Enmax is the source of the leak then that would explain things.

Or just take some personal responsibility for it instead of being surprised you’re the boy who cried wolf. You’re the same guy who offers condolences whenever Gaudreau is brought up (“we walk with the Gaudreau family”) and then jokes in another thread right after about how we should run down and kill cyclists and hunt pedestrians for sport.

It should not be surprising to you at all when someone thinks you’re making a bad taste joke or being insincere.

Keep tabs on the new card too. I once had to get 2 replacement cards because they forgot to do something related to tokenization and the charges never stopped. They had to reissue with tokenization removed.

Weird thing was when I looked up the company on the statement for the recurring online charges, they were some online startup in Europe. The CEO and CFO were baffled because they weren't out of development phase and didn't have a product to collect money on yet.
