I would like to say you wearing goalie pads, but in reality you are funneling pucks into your own net, just like Justin has been doing.

But hey, I get it. An own goal is still a goal, right!

Don't worry about Jansen, you should worry about the losing candidate - who lost - Madison Fleischer - and the skeletons in her closet.

This is the most hilarious deflection I've seen this thread. Just fantastic.

You are right.

Don’t learn from your loss. Everything is fine.

16% voter turnout? That should be the bigger story. Instead of stories this morning that have phrases like 'crushing loss' or whatever, maybe the media should focus on why so many people hate politics and our choices now that most people would rather just stay home and not vote at all. 'Voter Apathy Headlines Byelection Victory' would be more appropriate, imo.

Beat me to it but 16% voter turnout is why this vile human being won. I suppose people get what they deserve.

Is she the person who you want to defend? She was elected because of the party beside her name, she personifies the religious right wing in Canada with regressive views on abortion and MAID in particular and has had a significant focus on Christian views where she is in favor of conversion therapy. I feel the same way about anyone with fundamentalist beliefs, regardless of their religion.

She was elected because she wasn’t Liberal. That’s how bad this government has become.

I didn't follow this by-election, so correct me if I'm wrong on these 2.
But it seems the race was a right wing, anti abortion, religious fundamentalist and a Liberal playing the indigenous card questionably (seemingly falsely).
I'd stay home too; the voters deserved better.

Understanding that the Dutch historically were incredibly active in the slave trade should give some pause for reflection as to whether it is just a harmless tradition or something that should be critically examined.

Im not going to defend this person, but I think this is a huge and total failure by the liberal party (similar to how Donald winning is actually a major failure of the democrats rather than a massive success of Trump.)
People hate the current status quo, and will choose to stay home and support no one rather than voting against hate mongers. Last election was the pinch your nose but still vote red, now the stink is too great. And this is how the looneys get in... When everyone stays home because they can't bare to support the corruption anymore, the looneys who are single issue voters remain at the polls and thrust their candidates through.

The defense is to not let your party/leader run such a crooked, obviously corrupt government consistently. The liberals utterly failed to do this.

Yesterday’s news;
Trudeaus’s top cabinet minister resigns in spectacular fashion.
The annual fiscal update is an absolute disaster.
Freeland calls out Trudeau for using “costly political gimics”
Liberals lose by election by a wide margin.
The NDP still seemingly support the failing Liberal government.
Canada’s housing minister also resigns.
The Liberal party is not internally aligned on what direction the party should be headed.

Liberal supporters- the big news from yesterday should be ‘voter apathy’.

Guys can you slow down the conversation, it’s moving a little too fast for the conservative posters.

I don’t think there has been this many political headlines in a single day in a long, long time. Or ever?

Really the voter apathy is what should be triggering action to boot Trudeau. It’s the electorate clearly saying we no longer care about the boogy man all of the other problems have made liberals unelectable.

So don’t see the dissonance here. It’s all part of the same issue. The liberals have lost the mandate to govern.

Also pending more info around the 16 billion settlement the FES actually was fairly good.

He said he'll get to it after his Holiday! After that Holiday he'll take another one.

This is like that Seinfeld bit where George refuses to answer his phone because as long he doesn't talk to her then his girlfriend can't break up with him.

Curious as to why you thought the massive deficit was “good”?

I have voted Liberal, NDP and Conservative. I am absolutely disgusted by every major political party in Canada. Left or Right they are not serving Canadians.
