Chelsea are serious contenders. They’ve a vast pool of talent, a settled team, a good manager with all the resources they need in all areas of the pitch and they have no commitments in any major European competition.
Their window is wide open.
I think some Scousers are going to have to have a say about that.

If you thought this season would have a happy ending, you haven't been paying attention.
Chelsea certainly have the midweek bye advantage, and that can't be dismissed. I just don't think their defense is very good. Even today they needed a Spurs bed ####ting just to win. Need to see it for a little while longer before I think they can seriously challenge, for now they are the big challengers by acclimation.

Chelsea is the real deal. I mean you spend $2bn on players and sooner or later it works out. Who could’ve seen that coming?
As for Spurs, I’m not sure what we do. I live Ange and playing on the front foot after enduring Mourinho, Conte and Nuno. But the thing is, 2-0 up against a hated opponent at home…you’ve got to close that out. Instead, we were just out coached and naive. The penalties were dumb, and basically canceled out the Cucarella slips. But you’ve got to come better prepared.
And risking Romero and Van de Ven was a sign desperation. Hopefully they’re not out for the long term now, but that’s potentially devastating. I really think that we are looking at the end of the Ange 18 month reign. Which is another issue…we can’t keep sacking managers every 18 months and hoping that will fix things. It won’t. But, what else can we do now? The players look like they’re not buying this, and it’s a slightly different comedy of errors every week now.
Even if Arsenal have to pay way over the odds to get him in January, feels like they gotta make a play for Gyökeres if they want any chance of winning something meaningful this year. No way can they win anything but one of the also-ran cups with this attack as is.

I dunno everybody is stumbling a bit doesn't feel like a year where you need a perfect side to win, just to be in form. But a killer striker is something the gunners have lacked for years. Gyokeres I don't know about as well, he is playing in a terrible league and he could have gone to the prem 2 years ago when he left coventry and chose Portugal. I don't think he is a very ambitious player.
As long as it isn't boehly and Chelsea am enjoying the race as a neutral.
Crazy seeing fulham waste time in a draw with an extra man. Head back to your tourist stadium with your neutral stand and dig your michael Jackson statue out of storage you lamos
Arsenal will waste another season where they could have won it.
Certainly a striker would have got them 1 title in these 3 seasons (current included).
I fear I'll be looking back at this 10 years from now, still no title and thinking what could have been.
I kind of know what you're going through. Thinking about it as a Liverpool fan? This is one of the best Liverpool teams we've had in a long time, putting together epic seasons and unseen point totals.
Unfortunately, during this period we've run up against City.
Now City are stumbling and we're not taking extreme advantage. Could we look back on this with regret?
Quite possibly.

both Rashford and Garnacho out of the squad for the City game. Not injury-related, as they both trained at Carrington today ... Amorim said in his pre-match interview that he "pays attention to everything and then makes his decisions."
United have had problems with team selections being leaked to journalists in advance, with rumours being that Rashford and/or Garnacho might be behind those leaks. Luckhurst from MEN posted the apparent United starting XI for today's game yesterday on social media, and it was 11/11 ... now both aren't even on the bench. Telling.

Thats kind of odd though isnt it? I mean...its not like United have the squad depth to really throw you a lot of curveballs.
"Oh no! They're starting Maguire! Pep's going to have to re-evaluate his entire strategy!"
This is going to be an interesting Derby. United and City are both in poor form.

I'm a United fan and I 100% didn't see both Maguire and de Ligt starting. That's obviously not something that'll make an opposite manager completely change course, but it's still something most people wouldn't expect and it is more evidence that the starting XIs are deliberately leaked by someone on the inside. And curveball or not, you can't have somebody like that in your locker room.

I understand that part because it illustrates a willingness to sell out teammates for personal reasons.

Ugh...I obviously have no love for either of these teams but I really dont like seeing players injured, especially players that are always injured getting re-injured. That look on Mason Mount's face? I know it all too well.
You work hard to overcome the injury, get back in game shape, etc and then...bang. Back to physio.
