Like others have said I don’t like him in the division but the silver lining is that maybe he can smash McDrai into a fine paste.

Trouba confirmed that the Rangers raised the possibility of putting him on waivers if he didn’t agree to a trade and called it “a threat.”

“(Thursday) morning was, ‘Accept this trade or we’re scratching you,'” Trouba said in a video conference call with reporters on Friday. “I said, ‘OK.’ Then it was, ‘Accept this trade or you’re going on waivers,’ and I said, ‘OK.’ And then it got to a point where I felt comfortable with Anaheim and that was a place I wanted to go. I guess you could say I’m thankful that they made that happen.

“Unfortunate, I think, how it all happened. It’s a rite of passage to get fired from MSG.”

tangential to most of this , so I suppose just professional curiosity- has she pursued a particularly rare specialty? best I can tell she has a DO degree and is in a 3 year internal medicine residency (important stuff but basically a fairly broad , not at all niche, specialty?)

The extra 5 years of Huberdeau’s contract and the $2.5M in AAV makes that impossible. But somewhere down the road when his contract is almost over, who knows?

I could be misremembering but I recall reading somewhere she was in specific specialty, but can't find the article now.

That was all before the current Miller situation and whatever is going on there.
I've heard rumblings that Miller has asked to go back to NY and that was prior to this Trouba news.
But just water cooler rumblings, so who knows. The timing of things adds up.

No one knows what "the current miller situation" is. The Canucks FO has said nothing other than vague statements about him having their full support
.

Feelings about Trouba aside for a moment…

What an awful way to treat your captain. Doubly so given the team is performing well. Brutal look for the Rangers IMO. I hope players remember this. There’s something to be said for how a team treats their players. This is a terrible look for their organization from a human perspective. Less than 3 weeks before Christmas too.

I get that they wanted out of his contract but there’s better ways to approach it than this. Really weak move by the Rangers.

I don't know. At the end of a day it's a business. When they negotiated his contract, they had the NMC expire before the end of the deal for a reason, so he always knew it was a possibility. And they wanted to trade him in June. Sure, it kind of sucks for his personal life, but why should the be held to have him even if they think he doesn't fit anymore, if they are able within the rules to move him?

He got paid an extra 2 mil a year than he probably should have, and has to endure living in California for a year and a half. Worlds smallest violin.

3rd straight "C" they have dealt mid-season. The one before those is their current GM and he was bought out i believe.

Par for the course at MSG.

The league let him off the hook time and time again because played for the Rags, now, he is playing for the Quacks and if he so much breathe on McDiver or Pissy, the league will throw the book at him. I guess it's win win if he smash McDrai and cost them to miss a few games and the league suspense him a few games.

pretty tired of the "wish we could sell off Huberdeau" posts in general tbh. I get that he hasn't lived up to the contract (duh), but selling him off for nothing doesn't solve anything. It doesn't improve the team, and we're not in need of the cap space either.
