Brunicke is not good at hockey so this should lead to a better talent level at camp at least.
Wrong decision for this to not be Yakemchuk here though, that guy is a monster. Parekh is just pretty good.
Edit: even with all this Parekh should have been at camp and honestly basically a lock on the team regardless, I just think Yakemchuk should be even more of a lock but Team Canada is doing Team Canada things.

Too early - he was in at least one world cup and did very well (he was tasked with covering Jagr).

Plus Fleury could have been if he wasn't such a head case.

96 points in 66 games for a dman is more than pretty good

Derek Morris was though. he was grouped in alongside Brewer, Redden, Jovo etc as in the running for the 6/7

That's what Jarome Iginla should've for the Olympic camp! Pouting and being a baby definitely helped his career instead of going as an injury replacement

At that point in his career Regehr was a guy about to be sold for nickles by that idiot Craig Button. He was not doing much until that evil man Daryl Sutter came round and got him sorted out. By 2004 he was on Canada's World Cup team.

Patrick Roy was still playing too ; iirc he wasn't guaranteed to be starter so he told team Canada he wouldn't play.
Brodeur started the tourney as the 3rd goalie

Sounds like Roy, Ego as inflated as his chest protector.

I mentioned that earlier. I hope Roy sat and cried as the medals were being handed out.

I wasn't actually serious, of course he's not going to turn down the invite.
More an indication of that's what hockey Canada deserved though

And Yakemchuk for all his monstery-ness has good but just ordinary numbers by comparison.
Dickinson I'd put ahead right now, but not Yakemchuk.

No idea who is better, but comparing stats across leagues is generally a poor way to decide who is better, as the WHL tends to be better defensively. Both players are 4th on their teams in scoring.

if folks are interested (and if the link works) here were 5 predictions (from pretty highly ranked pundits) as to the final roster composition
https://www.theglobeandmail.com/spor...rticle1035331/
was mostly settled by this stage- between Burke and Belfour in net, discussions about Redden/Morris (picked by 4), Brewer (picked by 2) and Jovo for the last 2 slots
forwards- near consensus (I think the issue is these lists have 14F and they carried 13 (unless I missed someone) which is why you see names like Thornton, Primeau and O'Neill also being floated. Harry Neale had O'Neill over Theo

Now Beckett Sennecke please?
Dude gets snubbed and responds by putting up 14 points in 3 games.

Glad to see Parekh get a spot in camp. Will likely be tough for him to crack the roster considering he is an injury replacement. Hopefully he’s given as fair of a chance to make the team as anyone else. Could see the head coach scratching him from the roster as a way of validating his decision to leave off some of these talented players from the invite list. “See… I was right not to invite these guys!”
