Good. I would lower the trade then. He’s considered by most to be a top 10-20 prospect in the NHL though. How about this:
To Detroit:
Andersson
2025 1st round pick (New Jersey’s)
Jacob Pelletier
To Calgary
Nate Danielson
Jeff Petry (cap dump)

If a team like colorado wanted to go for it.
Andersen, vladar and a solid depth center like rooney for Girardi and Calum Ritchie.

Way too much. I think Andersson brings back a solid 1st plus a 2nd and a decent prospect.

I don’t know how desperate the Avs are. If they think their window extends beyond the next season or two, they’re not going to want to part with player like Ritchie, who has good odds of outplaying his contract for years.
I think Winnipeg are a better match in an Andersson deal. They’re going to go all-in. And Andersson already plays in a Canadian market, so I doubt he balks at going to another, as long as it’s a contender.

Bro come on...
So assuming the price for Andersson that we could potentially get from another trade is only a 1st, you're suggesting Danielson is worth two 1sts and a former 1st plus we get nothing for taking on a cap dump.

lol. I must be. I do think Danielson is a top prospect in the league. Drafted 9th overall less than 2 years ago. I remember Bedard saying he was the toughest player in the WHL to play against when they were drafted.
6’2” center with a great two way game a great skater. I figured the flames would have to add in an Andersson trade to get a player like that but I’m not sure. I guess his AHL numbers aren’t so great so far.
To Detroit:
Andersson
To Calgary:
Nate Danielson
2026 1st round pick

This is better than your other proposal, that one was a slam dunk by Detroit. No way Conroy did that, not even Treliving would.

Fair enough. I do think this last proposal is a huge return for Calgary. Would be very happy with that. Of course, you never know how prospects will develop. It’s just rare for teams to trade the top prospect in their system that was drafted really high so recently.

Not fair at all. If Detroit doesn’t want to spend 1st rd picks they can keep their mediocre players.

By 2026, Detroit should be confident in competing, with a potential top pair of evidsson and sieder. That should be a non lottery pick. Danielson is also blocked in Detroit, as Kasper looks like the real thing.
Possible.

So are any of these acceptable in a potential Andersson trade this year? I think I would be happy with this kind of return for him.
To Colorado: Andersson + Vladar (50% retained)
To Calgary: Ritchie + 2026 1st round pick + O’Connor
To Winnipeg: Andersson (50% retained)
To Calgary: Yager + 2026 1st round pick + 2025 2nd round pick
To Detroit: Andersson
To Calgary: Danielson + Conditional 2026 1st round pick (becomes a 2nd round pick if Detroit does not make the playoffs in at least one of 2025 or 2026)

He absolutely isn’t.
Just because someone was taken in the 1st round doesn’t meant they get that on the market.

Would be my preferred target of pretty much any prospects but he’s probably more untouchable than any prospect mentioned so far.
