He's not a journalist. He's a 20ish year-old kid who has a twitter account who has somehow managed to fool a bunch of weak-minded idiots that what he says matters. He's a nobody that only makes noise which feeds the biases of dip####s.

Well regardless of whether Mexico did it because Biden told them to get their #### figured out or if you think Trump had anything to do with it, it is amusing that they are actually doing something about it, because up till now it WAS RACISTOMGHOWCOULDYOUSTOPTHEM to deal with any of this.

Either way, she's being a moron with her retaliation stupidity. The goal here is to actually deal with the issues, and avoid the tariffs, not say 'oh we will just impose our own', while your economy dies.
|
Mexicans can shoulder poverty much easier than yanks, it makes sense to fight back for them, it isnt Mexico's fault, once again the US is screwing them, as it has for 200 years etc.
Where as Trump owns it all personally, tariffs and the massive damage they will do might just save democracy!!

Biden wrote a book and did a tour in 2017. In a couple of years he was back on the campaign trail.
Kamala could run for governor of California in 2026 which means she has to prepare soon. Newsom cannot re-run.
Or she can make a run at the presidency 2028.

Oh I know. I want GullFloss to admit if you source a piece of news, maybe not try and pass off the first piece of partisan misinformation hackery as actual, respectable journalism. I don't have much faith though.

Good summary of the response and issue here.
Don't worry, the usual ####tards will be along shortly to claim that Trump drove all of these changes and deserves all credit, then claim the foreign policy used by the Biden Administration only exacerbated the problems, regardless of what facts and other involved countries say.

Mexico has an opportunity to do something funny. End El Carousel if Trump institutes the tariffs under the pretext that they need to save the money they spend on it to counteract the needless economic damage being done.
More likely they'll just put out a statement saying they've done what he asked now drop the tariffs and let him claim victory, but if he doesn't go along and keeps the tariffs? Fine, the migrants are your problem now.

Yes, his qualifications can easily be called into question.
Bhatt####crazy earned an MD, but never practiced nor was licensed to practice. He immediately began work on an economics Ph.D. while working for the RAND Corporation. He also spent over two years at the Hoover Institution, which explains how he got his gig at Stanford. This is a guy who is well educated, but everything he does is tied back to his RW politics and relying on the connections he's built in that incestuous world to promote himself. His research has been heavily criticized for being detached from reality, relying more on political ideology than on empirical findings. He is NOT a researcher, nor does he have the qualifications to do research in the fields of medicine and immunology, which he has been heavily criticized for. He's been called out in both the United States and in Canada by real experts for his bull####. Bhatt####crazy is no more qualified for his role than any of Trump's cabinet picks, and not a single one is qualified for the role they were nominated for.

Influence of money. If you have strong financial backers and are associated with Hoover, you can do anything you want there. Imagine the damage Hoover would feel if one of their own was dismissed by Standford for malfeasance? Yowza! There's a dirty little secret in higher ed in the US. If you can keep the money flowing into your department you can get away with almost anything (including doing/selling drugs and ####ing your students). Keep the money flowing and the system will support you.

I might be overly optimistic, but I think there's actually a chance at deradicalization here. GullFoss hasn't demonstrated the BoLevi-esque ability to rationalize anything and everything.
At the very least, a firm rebuttal immunizes the rest of our readers from being radicalized by it.

Considering what just happened in Romania with their elections, and of course, the US before that... it's really sad to see how many people are falling for the blatant lies, disinformation and hostility that the right gleefully weaponizes. The right is striving for power and money, and stepping on the people that vote for them to do so, while their followers smile and let them.
The only defense to this is better education and more rigorous critical thinking skills, and the right is mercilessly trying to take these away too because they know education is power. Unfortunately, social media has become a platform for the right's hostile rise, and it's honestly scary. Watching people like GullFoss and MelBridgeman fall for this grift is actually sad to watch.

Thanks. I'll have to find time to read it. I never really researched stuff on the vaccine.
I fall somewhere in the middle I guess. I am pro-vaccine. My kids and I just got our 6th(?) booster. But I did think the lockdowns were extreme and caused psychological damage. Maybe because I was the one tasked to work regularly at the office during COVID so it wasn't a big deal to me whether people were at the office or not? I was one of 5 people regularly at the office in 2020. And kids were back in school by Sept 2020 so that wasn't a big deal either in my little circle?

Perhaps the Democrats, and for that matter the Liberals should run candidates that aren't morons themselves.
But OMG THE GRIFT!

Your guy won south of the border, and your guy on this side is going to win next year.
Why are you always so vile and angry?
I know you're obsessed with politics (like many right-wingers), but if nothing makes you happy, you should probably go touch some grass and reset your disposition.
