Unfortunately now you become the government by embracing the most harmful aspects of that culture.

Trump and Musk are likely to destroy any potential oversight mechanisms the government has, and it wouldn't surprise me if they made it illegal to have any "free speech limitations" on any media.

If they do that, the media should immediately invent stories about how they are gay monkey f***ers and call for their assassinations. Scrap the EPA? Here's a pile of nuclear waste on your lawn. Etc.

Or do you want to talk about raw milk? Super safe stuff the Industrial Food Complex doesn't want you to know about.

I read that other day and thought WTF. He probably heard it was originally used for industrial purposes and therefore is toxic in his mind.

He’s also claimed the measles vaccine causes Crohn’s disease. He has said the DTP vaccine significantly raises the risk of infant mortality (a lie), claimed the vaccine for Hep B received only five days of testing (a lie), claimed influenza vaccines are four times more likely to send a child to the hospital than if they didn’t get one at all (a lie), most of the time relying on unreplicated single studies or debunked information put out by grifters. You could go on and on. He is probably the last person in America you would want in this job for this alone.

Edit: how could I forget to mention the chemicals in the water that are turning kids trans… according to this kook anyway.

Yes.

Block chain is an interesting tech. Crypto itself is essentially an unregulated casino that's only utility is convincing others to come play so that previous clients can cash their chips out. The folks that are pushing regulators are either collecting fees or trying to legitimise and grow their unregulated casinos. With regulations their casinos get a moat drawn around them.

Finally you have the true believers that hate fiat currency (ironic) and want to move to some kind of gold standard type crypto future.

Have I read RFK’s book? No.

I wouldn’t read it for his insights into public health policy any more than I would read Ted Kacynski’s treatise on urban planning or L. Ron Hubbard’s thoughts on mental health.

Do they just tag each other in when the other two need some fresh air?

In terms of RFK Jr., i think the food and drug administration needs a kick in the pants, but I do not trust this administration to fix it.

One of their biggest issues has been lack of funding and lack of enforcement. Those are linked, and I do not suspect they will get better.

Outside of raw milk, vaccine pushbacks, and more ways to legitimize homeopathy, I do not see the more pressing matters being dealt with.

My SiL works in USA food labels and she is of the opinion it is more or less the honor system. There are some agencies that oversee to make sure that the info is correct, but not very many boots on the ground.

RFJ is a kook, antivax stuff is enough but if you want more look into his weird animal stories. "Finding" a dead bear cub in upstate New York and bringing the carcass to NYC to leave it in Central Park is demented.

Beheading a whale and transporting the head on top of his car, his kids recounted the smell of the whalejuice dripping into the car on top of them.

Ate a dog in South Korea, veterinarians inspecting the photographic evidence state it does not appear to be a goat due to the number of ribs.

Maybe you’re thinking of someone else because ain’t no way you went all this time enjoying his posts and suddenly decided this was the line.

Instead of being there for him I’m just going to enjoy that I pegged GF’s posting style with pinpoint accuracy months ago using something totally unrelated to politics and have a laugh at the handful of people who tried to give me the gears for it.

China and Japan are our biggest trade partners for Canola. Canola is THE cash crop in Alberta. It is the most lucrative by a large margin. That said, it is also very expensive to produce a crash in the market would be devastating.

I was wrong, they are 2 and 3. USA is our number one. It is worth 11Billion.

Damn. Hopefully they don't #### with it.

You mean if you ignore the 284 (and counting) food recalls for contamination, causes of widespread food poisoning, and problems in medical devices and drugs? That's the problem with self-regulation. The companies would rather poison their customers and pay a small fine than have a government inspector hold their feet to the fire.

But I don't think this clown show isn't going to make changes or do anything of substance that will address any of what you posted.

One of my good friends has also gone down the same rabbit hole. You can't reason with him or even have a cival discussion. I gave up months ago trying to get him to see reality. In fact we haven't talked in months and probably won't in the future since Trump won.

RFK Jr definitely has some crazy thoughts and ideas but he also wants create a healthier food environment by regulating highly processed foods to a greater degree and wants to remove certain chemicals like red 40. He has previously talked about how the same food products in Canada and Europe have far fewer ingredients than the US and he wants to implement that.

And he won't be able to cause the GOP will block him at every turn to protect their business interest friends. Worth remembering that despite being an insane person he is closer to being a left winger than a righty.

Hitler probably had one or two good ideas, too.

But does he really think he's going to wrangle in the US industrial food complex, or big pharma? Good luck. Too much money involved.

I would never trust someone ever in a lifetime who went into another country, created chaos with his anti-vaccine activism, and ultimately said country had 80 deaths from a measles outbreak due to misinformation.

But he says people should eat healthier?

Alright then.

RFK Jr.'s musings fly in the face of the deregulatory aspirations of the Trump administration.

It'll be like Russia: Anything goes with little if any consumer protection. The food chain will be no different.
