I didn't even think of this, and it's actually a silver lining that could come out of this if a massive expansion on EV infrastructure is completed (or at least approved and started). Would be a big step to help continue moving towards EVs, and Canada would likely copy if the US does it.
There is/was a massive program called NEVI, it's been somewhat successful but of course has has its fair share of hurdles and over spending. Normally it would be an easy target for Trump, but 80% of spending on it is to Red State and it is definitely providing lots of jobs. So hopefully that helps keep it around.
If they change the constitution to allow that, he'll lose to Schwarzenegger.
What year is it?! If they went the celebrity route it would be the Rock. Schwarzenegger is a losing ticket. EDIT: **** new page with the same response, lol.

He's a natural born citizen. They don't need to change the constitution for him to run.

Well that makes your comment make even less sense then, and I didn't say they needed to change the constitution. If they don't need to change the constitution to let Arnold run then just run any dozens of better candidates. I thought you were suggesting celebrity vs celebrity, which would make Dwayne Johnson the best candidate. It's not 2009.

You didn't say they needed to change the constitution... I did... In the post you were responding to.
It wasn't a serious suggestion.
It was a joke.

Last time I was on twitter every other ad was for Truth social. Im assuming musk will buy it, or at least take it over to help trump, then merge them into an even bigger dumpster fire.
Bluesky feels like 'old' twitter, so far anyways. Breath of fresh air. Hopefully all my hockey follows move over sooner than later.
Getting the 'For You' tab on twitter whenever I login is boring. It's Truth Social 2.0 now.
Yep.
Been on BSky for a bit over a year now and since the last three major migrations it's gotten much better and much more active. All of the dumb garbage I associate with X regarding terrible UI/UX experience is gone, and lots of newsmakers/creators are finally actively posting.
It's nice to have a timeline full of good jokes, art, and the occasional political glurge with none of the racism and Russia-posting that's so prevalent on X nowadays.

Gord Miller finally joined in the last couple of days, but he's not really a news breaker. Hopefully more hockey people join him. It's the only reason I still go to Twitter.

Jack Dorsey founded Twitter in 2006, stepped down as CEO in 2008, CEO again in 2015, launched Bluesky in 2019, stepped down from Twitter in 2021, and has ownership in X now. In 2024 he left Bluesky and urged users to stay on X. Probably regrets the whole Bluesky thing now.

Exactly. Beyond my stubbornness to leave given I've been there since 2009, sports reporters / in-game updates are why I won't leave. It's second to none during NFL Sundays. If sports reporters en masse all switched to another platform and left Twitter, I probably would too.
