If this goes into affect, this would directly impact his current wife and their anchor baby/psychopath, Barron. Wouldn't that be interesting to watch unfold!
Isn’t Miller Jewish? The great Theo Vom said whites and Jews don’t like each other so Miller could be deporting himself lol.
Oh, he gets it. He's just telling people what they want to hear. Who has been the party of corporate welfare for decades? JD Vance's party. Who has been the party of deregulation that eliminates protections to citizens from this corporate welfare? JD Vance's party. Who has been sucking at the teat of the corporations and the doing their bidding for decades? JD Vance's party. Who is backed by the Silicon Valley Tech Bros and wants him to be in the big chair? JD Vance. As if Hillbilly Elegy wasn't a big enough fraud? Yes, JD Vance gets it, and it is making him a very rich and powerful person, all at the expense of the voters he claims to be defending.

I was just thinking... I would imagine that many in a President's cabinet would need to be security cleared, which means they'll undergo varying levels of protocols in order to attain their security clearance, which gets more and more in depth as you move up the clearance levels to the very top (Top Secret - SIGINT in Canada, and likely a similar one in the US) if you will ever come across Top Secret information from financial history, to character references to character interviews, to psychological assessments, to lie detector tests, etc. Most probably won't need the upper most one except for the ones closest to Trump.
Yes I’m sure the guys keeping classified files in the mar a lago crapper will play it tight with security clearances. When it comes to governmental guardrails, of which we learned are largely an honour system, I wouldn’t hold my breath for those to do much but be speed bumps.
But the thing is, at least in Canada with CSIS and CSE, you can't even get the role if you can't get the required clearance. I'm just not sure what the "rules" are for someone joining a President's cabinet. I wonder how it works in Canada?
Trump already promised deportations of anywhere from 1,000,000 to 20,000,000 people so I’d buckle up. Should be extremely interesting to see how he makes this work.
It won't work, Millar will be a scapegoat.
Deporting citizens is unrealistic because where are they going to go? It's not like the preceding country will just take them, they're not a citizen of anywhere else.
The 20 million is used by both sides to fearmonger. Republicans: there are 20 million illegals taking your jobs raping your children. Democrats: there are 20 million illegals, poor them, they're going to get uprooted and deported.
Forget that number. It could be 20 million or 100 million, forget that number. Deportations will probably be the same as always, for criminals first. Do what's achievable and take care of that number first and go from there. Otherwise, what's the point of having a border?

With all the deportations that will happen, who is going to fill all those vacant jobs? Isn't this against their own self interest? Cheap ass labour that no one else wants to work?
They'll have to pay higher wages and stuff will be more expensive. Let's say "American guy" has no job right now because "illegal guy" is working it for peanuts. Say illegal guy is deported, now the company can no longer pay under the table, they have to pay the minimum wage so now American guy will do it.
So that's a decision for the American market. Do "you" want to pay more for fruit so the fruit picker gets paid more. Or are you happy with things being done under the table. Do you want a stable society for a higher cost?
Japan is an example, they want their society to pay more for better products/services so workers get paid more. A stable society. There is pretty much no immigration/underground market in Japan, no one would dare, everything is above board.

That was the idea behind Brexit, what the UK found was the places where the fruit needs picking, the middle of butt#### nowhere, dont have much in the way of un or underemployed white folks, agricultural labour isnt just about wages, it's living on site for a few weeks, usually in horrific conditions, an old school bus for a dorm, crapping in a communal bucket, working from sun up to sundown then moving to the next farm/crop a few weeks later
In the UK they just had to plough the crops in, they couldn't pick them

Exactly that is the part that is infuriating - one of the biggest reasons why the United States has as many issues as they do is the active interference of the Republican Party, which has continually been about private profits. The entire basis of trickle down economics is private profits ultimately benefiting the lowest members of society.
The entire premise of the Republican Party is the belief that all government is bad - small government with little regulation saves money, and yet JD Vance has the gall to suggest that the problem with the Democrats is private profits and socialized costs. The party you represent is the reason for more accidents in the first place, the deregulation causes more long term issues. The level of disconnection is absolutely insane to me.
Sorry, what is his reasoning for removing citizenship from citizens who were at one time, immigrants? Like, this would include Melania, Elon, etc. etc.
Because they will target very specific groups. It’s the non-whites who are the problem. Same thing with illegal immigrants. The majority of them are like Musk. People who overstayed their visa, not migrants who crossed the southern border. But these policies, they’re going to target non-whites, and they will be indiscriminate about true citizenship.

Except for the he fact that the military is never going to bow to Trump, their oath is to the constitution and not a wannabe dictator. A military coup will happen before that.
I'm not sure these guys give a tinker's damn about the US Constitution. Trump and his cohorts already mused about suspending parts, if not all of it.
The military rank and file by and large are Trump supporters.

Rank and file marines in particular are hardline MAGA. A good portion of insurrectionists were active/former marines.

My feeling is that we'll see a "Reichstag Fire" incident followed by the imposition of the Insurrection Act giving the President sweeping powers to suspend civil rights (with no timetable for lifting it).

Why?
The current billionaire class makes more money from the current system then disrupting the stability of the IS democracy. The US dollar being the worlds reserve currency has such huge value that the appearance of democracy and stability will be maintained.

As I said, it's impossible to deport a citizen, where are they going to go? Only extradition exists and even then, there has to be agreements. Almost only because of crime. Don't buy into the fear, there are UN conventions about this.
Deportations of illegals may increase but even that might not be feasible. Probably ends up being an unfulfilled campaign promise.
As GGG said, the republicans aren't going to buck the system that's already rigged for them.

"They're not going to do the things that they say they're going to do" is hardly reassuring. They'd then be either duplicitous or incompetent and I don't know which would be worse.
