By voting for Trump at the same time, you’re effectively destroying everything that AOC is trying to work towards. Just bafflingly stupid.

I have brown pigment in my skin called melanin as does everyone who isn't an albino, so...yes?

Trump already promised deportations of anywhere from 1,000,000 to 20,000,000 people so I’d buckle up. Should be extremely interesting to see how he makes this work.

Technology will make it ridiculously easy to implement a surveillance state, with brutally effective military tools for crowd suppression tools to stave off public unrest. Look at what China does.

The saddest part is this is a traditional Dem message, the Republicans now have co opted. Leaving the Dems looking like a party of social justice issues.
Its a solid indicator of why they lost.

The Republicans have been a party of self interest (right to defend yourself, don't take my money for taxes, what's mine is mine, etc.)
As our society has become both more diverse and more individualized/less interactive, people are voting less with a mindset of common interest. More now than ever, it's easier to move and work wherever you want. You can surround yourself with people like you. Your online experience, your music experience, your shopping experience, your entertainment experience, these are all becoming increasingly curated and individualized.
When you are trying to get everyone to agree on things, and the country is more diverse and divided and self-centered than ever, that's a lot harder than telling people to vote for themselves.
And even though many people voted for Trump when it is NOT in their self-interest, he convinced them that it is.
Dems try to sell a common good agenda. People don't believe them. Nor do they believe the Democrats can make it happen even if they do believe them.
I never really heard the case FOR Harris. She was just a fresh coat of paint on an old, sputtering car.
The Democrats run on this promise and then don't deliver when in power. Its probably that simple. We can do the "but what about the things they're good on" all day but if you have a lower income person who doesn't care about trans rights or Ukraine or whatever, then what?
If their lives aren't any better under Democrats, what's the persuasive argument for them to pick you? Its as easy as looking back at union Democrats; a bucket load of these people are spiritually and socially no different than Trump's base but they know which side protected their livelihoods. Take that approach to entirety of people making under $___ per year and watch how money and personal interests can sway people. You don't need full ideological consistency, you just need a coalition that accepts and supports enough of the larger plan.
But Democrats remain terrified of attaching themselves fully to popular policies (medicare for all) or actually fighting for ones they embrace (minimum wage) because a fight risks losing the centrist-leaning-right voter and that's who matters most to them. They celebrated an endorsement from Dick Cheney while running from immigration because, again, humanizing undocumented workers, explicitly pointing out their contributions and laying out what their absence would mean scares some of those people whose votes mean the most to the party.
So what are you? As Pepsifree puts it, what is your 'soul'?

Wonderful post, but you left out the part where the one issue the Democrats and Republicans agree on is doing nothing to stop Israel’s genocide in Gaza.
You can’t be wrong on that issue and try to claim a moral high ground.
It doesn’t work.

Except for the he fact that the military is never going to bow to Trump, their oath is to the constitution and not a wannabe dictator. A military coup will happen before that.

With all the deportations that will happen, who is going to fill all those vacant jobs? Isn't this against their own self interest? Cheap ass labour that no one else wants to work?

You're right, we're just clueless and have no idea about how tariffs work, so please educate. As previously asked, can you point to instances of this being accurate? It seems that Trump's use of tariffs have been strictly as a punishment to other nations rather than having any economic design behind them (protectionism, development of industry or market, etc.), and as a result, the cost being passed to consumers and acting as a mechanism to kick inflation into gear. I'm interested in seeing this other side of Trump's approach to using tariffs that you obviously see and no one else does.

Maybe just go back and read my post, because this post is not a response to what I said?

lol don’t buy into that bull####. The Republicans are no better. Probably worse scumbags.
Trump had 3200 ethic violations for conflicts of interest. He hasn’t even signed the documents to get access to classified information because of the conflicts of interest clause.
These losers are just lining theirs and their buddies pockets.

It's probably mostly all about the show. Some wonderful footage of a few thousand being herded back across the border sells the narrative nicely. Which is not to say there won't be thousands and thousands of people affected/deported but he'll tell us he sent a million back for every thousand that actually are - just like his fabrication of numbers entering the US.

You're both right! I suspect that white immigrants, especially from Europe, who might be middle class or poor are not going to be on the docket, and yes, anyone who contributes taxes with higher income isn't going anywhere either.
I would weirdly almost have more respect for it if they did go after people like me. I would feel more egalitarian in a ####ed up way.
