See this is what I disagree with. Mantha is a top 9 forward, there should be a spot to play someone in the top 9. Calling up Hunt is just another example of management trying to make the playoffs.

28 year old Hunt on the 4th line/press box instead of 25 year old Morton?
My God. Fire everyone.

Morton is in his 2nd pro year. Had a good camp the team sucks at faveoffs.
But year 50 year old journeymen Hunt deserves this.

I don't get this. The person being elevated back into the top 9 is Pospisil. So, they needed a replacement fourth line winger. Hunt had a good camp so they are rewarding him for a bit. He may spend the whole time munching popcorn.

It’s a long season, lots of time for the young players to be recalled and given a role on the team vs. being an extra forward.
Like what they did with Zary and Pospisil last year.
Although along those lines, I wouldn’t have minded seeing Duehr get the call.

I don’t think you are aligned with what the players and coaches are doing.

Why would you call up a skilled player projected to be a top-6 forward and play them with with grinders for 6 minutes a night? Who does that serve? If you have a young player who has a ceiling as a bottom six, by all means call them up. But otherwise, keep them in the ahl

I mean, Hunt didn't even play last game. Was that what people wanted for whoever they had in mind?

Dryden Hunt fills his role perfectly. He’s a solid veteran presence in the A, great example for the kids, and a very serviceable, reliable stopgap in the bigs. The prospects aren’t being harmed by playing big minutes in the development league.

So they have a roster spot to make a waiver claim?

Plus he’s been playing well in the A. The games I’ve gone to watch live he’s been a standout (in a positive way).
