I really don't love that our 4th line is going to be some combination of Lomberg, Rooney, Hunt, and Kirkland.
That should be a spot where some younger players are getting a chance on a re-building team.
Not a bunch of veteran tweeners (excluding Lomberg who is great).

Taking a while to get to 5000
|
Last year I recall thinking Hunt was maybe overused by the coach but not awful and towards the end of the year he looked pretty good. Start of this year (TBF, camp) he looked poor. We'll see.

Just means the other guys are getting top minutes on the Wranglers and not sitting out games

Exactly. I don't get it. Would have been nice to see what we have in Kerins given our lack of depth a C.

He might not even play and if he does he will be on the fourth line. There is more to callups than "who has the most points" obviously

it's not like there is a massive difference in points. Wranglers top 5 scorers have 10 to 12 points.
Kerins and Pelletier loaded up on pts in their first 5 or 6 games. If you wanted the current hot hand, that might be Stromgren or Morton. Those two have been great the last several games

They have been very clear they want to be competitive
People can ignore it but that’s what they’ve said

The fourth line hasn't been effective at all since game 4 or 5 of the season, and it's largely due to the fact that Kirkland and Rooney are getting absolutely demolished from a possession standpoint. I don't see an identity there whatsoever and Hunt isn't going to change that.
Hell at the very least a guy like Duehr can provide size and speed to a fourth line, and leads the Wranglers in points.
