Slewing left won’t do it. They need another celeb type candidate like Obama who captured people emotionally. It’s not about policy, it’s a cult of personality.

I guess Liberal voters aren't that informed or the intellectuals they think if you can just label Bernie a "socialist" and thats all it takes to sway them away from him.

I do wonder how much of this is consciously or subconsciously Americans just don't like the idea of a Woman being Prez or close to it. Palin was very Trumpy and they rejected her team for a Black Prez. They did elect Harris as VP, but that might be a special case because of the pandemic

get a grip, I have never voted liberal in my life I just know a grifter when I see one. Your avatar lol, get a life. Imagine worshiping that guy.

the fact you think that morons electing a moron vindicates Trump is hilarious...he is who we thought he was and will continue to prove himself to be. Dubya got elected by morons twice too, that doesn't make him a smart or a quality president.

It's possible, but then that's all Americans - because a larger % of women voted for the Don vs last time.

If Kamala even bothered to try to appeal to Trump's demographic to siphon some of them, she may have stood a chance.

Don't think it's a gender thing so much as falling into all the Dem tropes, coming off an administration with poor approval ratings and not expressing an appetite to deviate in any way or correct on some obvious blemishes, and not adapting to the times by paying more attention to the influence of SM podcasters and similar personalities (but instead sticking to door knocking and traditional media thinking it would have the same or better influence).

Trump adjusted well from his 2020 loss. Even though I laughed at the suggestion of it at the time, his podcast tour in the final weeks as well as having the influence of x probably did tip the scales. These are the times we live in.

Harris didn't get the vote out...Trump got less votes than last time, millions less it looks like. He hit is now lower ceiling but she wasn't able to come close to matching Biden.

Its not as complicated as we are making it seem

She should have picked a running mate who could attract them with racist and misogynist jokes. It seems to be a pretty politically important group in middle America.

I wonder if the lower vote total is just driven by having 100,000 less polling stations then last time making it more difficult to vote. Early voting was also more available in covid.

As for Trump once California is done he should eclipse is 2020 results. He’s at 72.5 with 4million in California and only 55% in so should get another 3.25 million or so votes there giving him about 75 million plus whatever else is left to count compared to 74 million last time. So he comfortably outperformed last time.

I don't know if I agree with that, but I would probably need to be more thoughtful on that.

Harris beat Trump with the younger woman demographic between 18 and 44 53% to 43%, but the older woman demographic was closer with 51 to 47 for Harris.

White woman of course Trump took 53 to 46.

Black voters strongly supported Harris 83 to 16 but Harris dropped from Biden's 91% in the last election, Trump increase from 8 to 16%

Trump gained in almost every demographic.

Latino voters Trump increased

Young voters Harris under performed.Harris dropped from 61% to 52%

I think its difficult to label 75 million voters as mysoginysts and racists considering Trump's increases in minority groups and with woman.

Harris didn't outperform Biden in any county, not one.

I think this points to the Democrats trying to drive a narrative instead of listening to the middle and lower class and what they wanted to hear.

I think that in terms of the argument that the last two woman have lost. I think we would need to analyze the campaigns that they ran. Hillary ran a poor campaign, and avoided campaigning in key areas, Harris I don't think ran a great campaign, and she didn't present well on the border issues, the economy, and crime.

Just my 2 cents.

Or put more emphasis on economy and the addressed illegal immigrant concerns (instead of laughing it off like it wasn't a valid concern).

The problem in talking with Kamala hardliners is that they can't separate their reactiveness to Trump's sound bites and acknowledge that Harris' main rallying points just weren't going to be compelling to most in Trump's demographic and she could have easily course corrected there, but instead chose to lean on the nazi/fascist/garbage narrative which made them look weak and hypocritical after they proclaimed themselves the campaign that would be solution-focused and not descend into insults.

In the end, the allure of what he promised out-weighed the latest bat#### crazy remarks that people became accustomed to from him over the past decade. He always seems to have an out (i.e. taken out of context) or backtrack on anything that landed him in hot water in the past. It also helps him that americans have the memories of goldfish.

Imagine being so giddy in your enjoyment of others' misery (brought to you by the esteemed @ULTRA_MAJESTY) that you spew this out on an outdated hockey forum.

Ahahja.

Really though? The Dems have no one to blame but themselves.

They ran a piss-poor Campaign.

At least Trump supporters took his loss in 2020 with grace and dignity.
