Time to turn off the news for many, many months. Society's hard turn to the extreme right is just not a fun timeline.

Yeah, this exactly. Privileged white people often have ignorant views on what a far right reign means to people they don't know or care about. (Trump/UCP etc). Everything's the same for me, so therefore the same for everyone.

Trump is going to sell out Ukraine on Day One. And it is at that point that Russia will have fully puppet-mastered Trump and his MAGA republicans to achieve all of his geopolitical dreams.
A vote for Trump is a vote for Putin.

I agree with you CC. The Dems did a poor job of rallying their own base after the euphoria of her coronation and thrashing of Trump in the debate.
The country leans Republican and the electoral college favors them as well. Sitting on your lead isn't enough especially in the rust belt where it was always close.
Third election in a row where Trump exceeds his polling numbers so this isn't really a surprise.

Whats the oldest saying about winning an election.
"Its the economy stupid".
You'd think that would be easy to figure out in a capitalist society.

This kind of makes sense as once you have a state constitutional right to abortion it’s no longer a federal issue.
|
And there was no real way for Harris to deliver abortion rights nationwide. Biden couldn't do it, and unless they won a trifecta and got rid of the filibuster, Harris couldn't make it happen either.
Sure, she could replace a conservative justice if they randomly died or something (it's unlikely any of them would step down willingly), but that's still not going to do it on it's own unless she replaced 2 of them. And the notion of tilting the Supreme Court to maybe turn liberal a decade or two from now isn't really going to drive voters.

maybe not the greatest strategy to go from calling Republicans weirdos on national TV to eagerly accepting Dick Cheney's endorsement in October

This is all true, but also 50% of the electorate decided a rapist, racist felon is what represents their values or at least isn't a dealbreaker.

Unfortunately it appears economy (even with the r*tarded tariff logic) and immigration were stronger rallying points than rights (surprised women didn't flock to kamala for this) and childcare.

Yeah I think she's on the popular side of the issue but it's not a ballot box issue for President.

I think there is a chance that it actually expands the war. Countries like Poland, Moldova, Georgia, Finland, Sweden, and the Baltic States will see it as an existential threat. Especially now that North Korean soldiers are joining, I wouldn't be at all surprised to other countries start providing actual manpower to Ukraine. After that, countries like Germany and France might get more involved as well.

Joe Rogan's endorsement was probably checkmate because Americans are that sheepishly dull.

Yes, Americans in a nutshell. Calipanthersfan and others warn us all the time. Americans don't care about rights or success of lower and middle class. They care about tax breaks for the rich (because they're mislead easily) and the economy (because they don't understand how the economy works) and feel that immigrants are to blame for any dip in the economy.

Other than crypto, I think you could make good money off of betting the opposite of what dino says. I know I personally have made money off of it!
