He may be found not guilty. But what this story says and what he said through his agent months ago aren't the same.

One player whose name was out there denied being in the room. And he was never charged. His statement differed greatly from the majority of the others.

The ones who were charged all said they "didn't engage in wrongdoing", which was clearly relying on the fact the initial investigation didn't result in charges (ergo no "wrongdoing").

Are people being too emotional and outraged for you again?

But you just basically dropped “a friend of a friend of a friend says Dube says he’s innocent” when his lawyer said as much however many months ago, which is a very large part of why this is going to trial at all. Literally everyone knows Dube is claiming he’s innocent.

How were you expecting people to react? How can people react better to meet whatever your needs were from sharing this “insider” information?

I didn’t realize this thread was only for speculation towards his guilt. Speculation towards his innocence (even though I fully stated it could be wrong) shan’t be tolerated!!

If he’s guilty - throw the book at him, but it would be nice to see a former flame proven not guilty, and now it would be even nicer to see this thread bumped if that day comes.

You just love the squabble huh?

Always poking.

I just think passing along information on any topic is interesting, and a person shouldn't have to defend doing so.

The rest is you trying to pick a scab.

So you were hoping (and still hopeful) for a pat on the back for saying that a guy who plead not-guilty thinks he’s innocent?

Great job little buddy! You did it! If Dube is found not guilty regardless of whether he did it, you’re going to be the real hero!

Is that closer to what you wanted?

Life must be pretty stressful if every question is a squabble or picking a scab to you.

I think we can probably agree that not all “passing along” of information is interesting and shouldn’t have to be defended, considering people had to defend themselves in court for “passing along” information about Brian Burke years ago, so maybe there’s a line somewhere and some questions or push back is OK without causing anyone to faint.

I think it's interesting to hear a friend of a friend's comment about something like this.

The whole thing blindsided the team and the fan base without a lot of info.

You can make this as personal you want. I thought the Gaudreau Seravalli thing was a bit of a pile on and didn't understand why people were over reacting so much. Many at the time agreed with me.

To suggest that people tend to overreact and pile on in today's world isn't pointing to me being hurt or about to faint.

You just like to scrap on the internet. I get it. You likely won't have much luck with me though ... I'm too old and don't care enough.

Speaking of looking for pats on the back. None of this needed to be said.

Are we scrapping? I thought we were flirting.

Maybe we just see things differently. You seem to see a lot of overreaction and emotion where there is very little, I tend to see very little. Maybe it’s the age gap.

But it’s all kind of silly, right? People should be able to post whatever they want without defending it, unless someone thinks they’re overreacting, then they have to defend it, but then defending it is actually scrapping.

I don’t see a huge difference between people questioning OP and you questioning them. Is there?

Not being antagonistic in the first place is an option. Though admittedly not a lot of fun for those who use CP mainly to dunk on other posters.

Interesting framing ... "You seem to see a lot of overreaction and emotion where there is very little, I tend to see very little."

So what you see is correct. Gotcha.

But all this is mute.

I didn't say there was a lot of anything in this topic. Just pointed out that the guy should be good to provide something he heard without having to defend it.

I have a pretty established history of 25 years on this site without being all that emotional so I think you're barking up the wrong tree (old guy phrase)

I don't think you do flirting very well by the looks of it.

Remember when you said I was obsessed with you, dared me not to reply to your posts, and then spent the next two months replying and commenting on my posts even when they had nothing to do with you?

We have fun, don’t we?

Not really all that groundbreaking - one would kind of expect the girlfriend of the accused to believe that he's innocent. Hard to think she'd stick around if she believed he was guilty of rape.
