Nothing wrong with relaying what I heard. Especially given I mentioned twice in a very short post "take it for what it's worth".
Sharing perspective/information I heard, that could be relevant. Thought it was worth the share. Feel free to ignore it, but no lessons learned here as you alluded to.

As in how the Flames let him off far easier than the other four guys with the mental health cover story and the benefit of the doubt?
I don't know why the Flames org should draw any ill will in that situation from his camp. He was done a kindness he probably didn't deserve.
And the camp of a guy pleading not guilty will usually tell people said person is not guilty. Especially family and significant others. Don't know why anybody would expect otherwise lol.

The point is that if he is guilty, his current girlfriend is exceptionally unlikely to have that information and even less likely to pass it on. Her testimony is not only hearsay, but hearsay from an obviously unreliable source.

There is enough evidence that he was in the room so if you are saying he wasn't even there the GF story is BS. There was a massive investigation, these charges aren't just laid out for no reason.

Sure, there can be speculation about his innocence. And no, people don’t have it figured out.
But you just basically dropped “a friend of a friend of a friend says Dube says he’s innocent” when his lawyer said as much however many months ago, which is a very large part of why this is going to trial at all. Literally everyone knows Dube is claiming he’s innocent.
How were you expecting people to react? How can people react better to meet whatever your needs were from sharing this “insider” information?

Maybe Dube reads CP and that's why he doesn't want to return to Calgary. Given his reputation here, he might have a tough time getting a fast food job. Moving on to a place who doesn't know him is probably a good choice.

He's currently playing in the KHL and has 7 points in 18 games, which puts him 10th on his team.
Even if he is cleared on all charges, he might not have an NHL future to come back to.
