For probably 2/3 it's some sort of cognitive dissonance that allows them to ignore his lunacy. Drove by a yard with Trump signs yesterday that also had signs saying
"We no longer have a difference in political opinion, we have a difference in morality" as well as something stupid like "Make America Healthy Again". These sentiments are so far removed from reality it bottles ones mind. So yeah, these are c clearly truly stupid people, but they probably aren't horrible people.
But if the 2/3 number is right, there is still more than 25M who think he is godlike.
Its so strange. Talking with a client the other day and she asked if I had voted yet. I said we aren't eligible to be citizens until the spring so can't vote this time. She said we'll that must be wrong because all these illegals are voting. I said no they aren't. Some places allow non citizens to vote in local elections, but to vote in a federal election you have to be an American citizen. And she is like I'm sorry, you are wrong - they talk about these things on these podcasts I listen to.
The glorious information age.

Hearing fat out of shape people like Trump talk about make America healthy again is hilarious.
Wait until Bobby takes away your KFC drumstick and replaces it with rancid beat meat.

Again, this all began when civics lessons left the K-12 education system. Nobody knows how their own ####ing counry works anymore.
Pardon me, that's not accurate.
An immigrant has a very ####ing acute idea of how this country works because they are actively trying to navigate the systems and need to know answers to questions about how the country works in order to become citizens.
I say this as someone who immigrated and stayed, and became a citizen. It took me 7 years of residence and that's AFTER I had been married to an American woman for 4 years. I couldn't vote until I became a citizen. FACT.
It makes me want to scream hearing this stupid bull####.

In a rally in Georgia on Sunday, Trump said he would put Herschel Walker in charge of America's missile defense systems.
Herschel Walker.
Vote wisely. Like your life depends on it.

No, the police are going to follow state law and leave the interpretation of the conflict between the state law and the federal law to the courts.
Missouri already blocked officials in 2022. The Justice department backed down and didn’t send people.

I don't think that happens this time. The police might follow state law but what do they do if the Justice department observers show up with US Marshall's? Are they going to try and block them?

What is your point with this thought process. Last time the DOJ backed down and didn’t send observers in Missouri.
We know in 2023 states limited access. We know 3 states have threatened to do it this time. Why don’t you believe it will happen. What kind of evidence would change your mind here

Well when asked for comment this time the DOJ did not say they were backing down, they didn't say anything. I am simply presenting possibilities here. The federal law says they can be there, doesn't it seem shady these red states don't want any federal observers there? Here is a question for you, if Donald Trump was president currently and some democratic states refused his DOJ observers to attend what do you think would happen? I would bet all my earthly possessions those observers would be getting in.

He's saying that crap because he knows there's a good chance he could lose. He wants to setup a repeat of events that lead up to Jan 6th.

Voted for Kerr in CA-40 and the California ballot initiatives. Didn't vote for either of the two horse race participants that you all are hanging by a thread on.
