Man, if there's one organization that has been worse at drafting and developing goalies than the Flames, it has to be the Avs. Just awful track record.

Hard to win games minus a good powerplay.

Hard to have a good power play if you don't have good top-line forwards. The Flames' PP is really crying for a playmaking centre.

Nice to see the Flames bounce back after some rough games over the last stretch.
Now please beat those losers from Dumpsterville on Sunday!

Goalman comes up big and Lomberghini looked like he was trying to start an obstinate lawnmower.
 Fantastic!

 Markstrom who now?

Dan Vladar was really good. Lucky at times, maybe, but really, really good tonight. A shutout well earned.

The entire team in front of him was committed to defense. Something hard to do against a very good offensive team in NJ. Nice to see after back to back poor efforts on the road.

Huberdeau and Mantha were lucky to combine on that goal in the 3rd. All game long they both drove me crazy with lazy plays and sloppy handling of the puck (Mantha more than Huberdeau...at least Huberdeau kills penalties pretty well). All is forgiven for now, but both guys need to do better.

The refs were ####ing awful. I try not to complain about refereeing, but they missed 3 ridiculously obvious calls against NJ, and they called 2 of the weakest slashing calls against Calgary that I've ever seen.

All in all, no major complaints. Glad to see a win after that last stretch.

I thought Huberdeau had a great game

The Backlund chant from his crew is great, but it's made by the cut to Lomberg also dancing along in this angle. I love Lomberg.

Huberdeau has been the Flames best forward...biases and his salary prevent some fans from ever giving him credit.

I didn't, and I'm a big Huberdeau apologist. He fought it most of the night until that last play. Sure, did his job defensively, but that should be the expectation for everyone. A guy like Huberdeau needs to make plays, and he had a hard time just handling the puck. It was frustrating to watch.

Great team game tonight! Backlund, Coleman, Coronato and Bahl looked really good. Vladar was dialed in. Noticed that Kuzmenko was benched for the 3rd period I think. Hopefully he takes that as motivation to get going.
Glad to seem the team gut out a win like that… especially leading up to the game against the Oilers.

I thought that Kuzi was all over it in the first. Hitting and battling hard.

Hes essentially what I expected from him so far. He will put up 35-40 points and maybe get us a 5th.
