It’s too bad Lomberg didn’t kill that guy. I’ve always wanted to see an Ivan Drago/Apollo Creed style murder a guy on the ice fight. He came pretty close.

Thought Huberdeau was really engaged, made some really good defensive plays including playing that shorthanded 2-1 perfectly, and then was rewarded with a goal.
Backlunds line had to play the tough minutes all night and then were rewarded in the end.
Kadri's line not quite back to last years chemistry, but looked much better than they did against UTah.
Kevin Bahl was the best player on the ice for either team. Just highly involved in everything at all times. Lots of energy and smart plays. Good for him against his old team.
Dan Vladar was really good. Lucky at times, maybe, but really, really good tonight. A shutout well earned.
The entire team in front of him was committed to defense. Something hard to do against a very good offensive team in NJ. Nice to see after back to back poor efforts on the road.
Huberdeau and Mantha were lucky to combine on that goal in the 3rd. All game long they both drove me crazy with lazy plays and sloppy handling of the puck (Mantha more than Huberdeau...at least Huberdeau kills penalties pretty well). All is forgiven for now, but both guys need to do better.
The refs were ####ing awful. I try not to complain about refereeing, but they missed 3 ridiculously obvious calls against NJ, and they called 2 of the weakest slashing calls against Calgary that I've ever seen.
All in all, no major complaints. Glad to see a win after that last stretch.
