It's why I dislike this playoff structure.

Just do a traditional 1 vs 4 and 2 vs 3. If you want the extra game then do the 4 vs 5 play in game still.

It's tough to beat the same team twice and it's what you are generally asking the teams to do here.

Cavalry won the first game. Even if Forge win against Athletic and then win the second game now...how does that decide who the champion is. It just means they are 1-1 in the playoffs.

Just treat the 1 v 2 game as a "play-in" game rather than a playoff game. Top 2 get to "play-in" for rights to host the final. Loser joins the bracket.

He got invited to roll the prawn brigade, so scooped another pal. Purdy pumped.

Or just give that to the 1st place team - in reality winning the table should be rewarded more. Especially in soccer where historically there isn't a playoff in most reputable leagues anyways.

1st Place Team: Bye to the Finals
2 vs 5
3 vs 4

The only problem is in a league dependent on gate revenue the 1st place team might want the revenue from the extra game.

Tickets going very fast, maybe 100 left on Ticketmaster. In 2019 tickets didn't really sell until the week before the finals.

There aren't any blocks of 4 left, only 3 blocks of 3. I'm pleasantly surprised, I was worried attendance would be not great.

Great to see it virtually sold out. I'm not surprised though - a lot of season ticket holders adding on extras, casual fans who attend a few game per year also won't want to miss it.

Has there ever been an actual sell out before? Maybe the 2019 final? Some of those cup matches vs. Whitecaps and Montreal were pretty full too, but I'm not sure that they actually sold out.

And what is the "official" capacity? I know that it gets a bit fuzzy with the Officers Club stuff, and a few weird little random stands and grassy areas. I guess we'll find out on the 9th!

It is going to be a great showing for a National Audience on the CBC.
The league secretly must be happy the game will be played in a full soccer stadium as apposed to a mostly empty CFL stadium.

Ship busses will be leaving 30 mins earlier for the game. Think there's been a second bus added. Supporters night planning still in progress but it'll be similar to 2019.

Feels like a do-over from 2019 on and off the pitch. Hopefully this time there's no pesky pandemic to stunt all the growth in the upcoming offseason.

Yeah - pretty much just a smattering of single seats now. Great to see. Parking is going to be a gong show, but arriving early is the easy fix to that.

I would've put money on this one selling out, but it is nice to see it sold out so early. Unofficially, of course. But I'm sure that announcement is coming pretty soon.

Arguably the micky mouse reffing and last minute playoff format did as much harm to growth as anything.
