Veags claimed him back when Edmonton put him on waivers and because no one above them in the pecking order made a claim, they were able to assign him to the AHL.

Lavoie's paycheques are going to be funny this month, a few days of Oilers payments and mostly Vegas. Some will be at NHL salary too and some at AHL.

It’s unbelievable really to think that the oilers, once getting him back, couldn’t have used him in just one game. It wouldn’t have changed anything!

They even had a roster spot and the cap. Lavoie probably feels that at least someone wants him.
