I suspect the Oilers will try to get Lavoie back.

Wouldn't he need to stay on our main roster if we claim him?

Oilers reclaim Lavoie;
Vegas now has only 12 forwards on their opening night roster, including Schwindt

Now that they've re-claimed him, he still has to clear waivers by Edmonton to be sent down, right?

No. Only f no other team has put in a claim can Edmonton send him down without waivers. But since waiver priority is still the reverse of last year's standings, that means there is only 7 teams (who finished above the Oilers) who could have put in a claim.

I know Schwindt wasn't a huge loss but the lack of young centres in the organization is concerning. The 2025 and 2026 draft needs to address this issue.

Im sure they will. Conroy did a great job adding very solid D prospects. His focus, in my opinion, will shift to mainly Centers/forwards next trade deadline/draft.

With Rooney and Sharangovich out one would think Schwindt would have gotten a call up for the home opener if he went unclaimed

Raphael Lavoie is on waivers again.... and the Flames need a 4th line Center.... the Flames have the opportunity to do something hilarious.

What a glorious - and hilarious - set of circumstances this would turn out to be!

Almost had a hat trick. Hopefully he has a big year. The guy has some skill for sure.

Pelletier with two assists.
Thinking he finds it and the Flames played it correctly to get him to the AHL to find his game and not deal him for a 7th round pick (or something like that).

Pretty awesome to see how the waiver results went halfway through the year
Pelletier: 11 points in 20 games, +10, looking like he won’t be on waivers again and might be a middle six regular for the team
Cooley: .933 in 25 AHL games, looking like we most likely move on from Vladar at some point and that he gets a shot as Wolf’s backup next year
Schwindt: 0 goals, 7 points in 38 games in Vegas this year. He may end up becoming an NHLer, but not much more than a guy like Rooney. Kirkland pre injury was doing much better than him anyways, so don’t feel like we lost much of anything here

Surprised Schwindt still taking up a roster spot for them.

I have too say I really didn't think losing Pelleiter on waivers would have mattered. Byron 2.0 probably though, not franchise altering but a guy they want on the team

I don't think the Flames see that way, Schwindt was a much needed right handed center, obviously a depth player
I am sure, they thought he would clear.

In the end it was always short sighted.
He was a guy that coming into 23-24 was one of the top prospects and probably actually ahead of Zary on most rankings.
Then he gets hurt, has a rough season, and everyone just wrote him off.
His potential as a middle 6 forward that had some offensive skill was always there and happy to see him flourishing now.
