I had concerns that both Zary and Pospisil would have trouble replicating their prior season, but it looks like they're poised to build on it. Which is great news for us.

Zary looks like a budding star...has that mojo to make a big play that stars usually have. He has zig-zagged like that a few times since stepping into the league.

What a fun and unexpected opener. I usually prefer low scoring games but that was just a great effort by all the skaters to battle back. This team has some jam and some talent. They could do some damage if they can keep the puck out of their net.

Go Flames!
My dad passed away in August as well. After a game like that we would have chatted on the phone, despite how late it was. Really missed him today.

But I just said a little “thanks for the help Dad” GFG

Didn't know what to expect from this team but if that's any indication of how they are going to play I think it'll be a really fun season.

Was great to see the team chasing Miller around after the hit, clean or dirty it doesn't matter it's still a sign of a close-knit team. To pull off the comeback after the new guy Mantha steps up and fights Miller, I think that's good juju. Can't wait for the home opener and the 3rd game against the Oilers!

The Tocchet gambling thing was in hindsight very similar to how mlb dealt with ohtani, er I mean his interpreter, gambling on baseball.

Pretty sure toch was just the fall guy for Wayne.

Maybe it’s my tinfoil hat but it’s not that far fetched

You can’t tell me that Tocchet and Janet were both involved but Wayne was clean as a whistle.

People are also acting like he was a hero for taking the fight...he had already passed resulting in a Flames penalty

That’s what the league wanted us to all believe, sorta a bit like the ohtani situation this year.

So sorry everyone. My deepest sympathies to all of you. Your loved ones enjoyed this game just as much as we did.

Have to give Pospisil some credit on that OT goal as well. He was the perfect distraction.

Couldn’t have wrote a better script for a team with a bunch of new players trying to bond and build chemistry. That win was massive.

Really like Pachal, Mantha, Pospisil, Zary and Lomberghini

I think once Bahl gets all of the rust off we’re going to have a pretty tough D. Weegar, Pachal, Bahl and even Anderson can all bring the wood. Imagine if Crushnikov would have been up for this game.

Hope Rooney’s okay.

Getting tougher up front too, Mantha is nasty, and Klapka and Lomberg are willing.

Absolutely!

Though if Rooney misses a few games, I'd be interested to see Zary in the middle and Coronato draw in on the wing.

It's funny it says "Saved 5 of 20 shots", Vlady doesn't look too upset about it though.
