Miller never said he hopes Rooney is ok. Just it was a clean hit and you don’t want to see a guy on the ice like that. Just enforces the story is Miller is a giant pr*ck. That’s ok- things tend to come around JT. I won’t be too sad if he ends up in Rooney’s spot one day.

Please, the Flames won after down by 3 goals and won it in OT with a beautiful goal by a kid. Let us enjoy the season opener win and not read on and on bickering.

The whole team was good. Though stats wise, most of them were under water according to Bingo’s write up. Maybe the first skewed the numbers too much. Guys who we all say were good - Pospisil, Huberdeau etc, were in the 20s.

It was not a clean hit. It was interference that could have devastating impact on a guys career.

Miller is a piece of trash just the like fans who chanted his name while Rooney was laying on the ice.

Nope, didn’t even say it this time. “Sell high” is an unrealistic concept.

That will be the saving grace from this D corps, if there is one. Questionable defensive play, but I see lots of offensive talent there. Weegar, Andersson, Miromanov, and Barrie could all put up some nice numbers.

To be fair, he did say Rooney is a good guy.

Good to see he had his priorities straight around the incident.

The guy was born to be a Canuck.

Miller will ask for a trade half way through the season and Tocchet will get fired before the season is over for betting on Canuck games.

I wonder how many Gaudreau tributes the Flames will see in the first 20 games?

Go Flames!
My mom also passed away this past Sunday so I got to watch in Victoria with my Flames loving sister, brother in law, niece and other family in my mom’s house.

We normally spend Flams games in a group chat since I’m in London. I know she was here watching with us 🥲

Was tonight's because the Flames specifically were in town, or is every team doing it in some fashion regardless of the opponent?

Fun and unexpected win. I was thinking to myself late in the 1st that the Flames will have trouble scoring this year. Maybe next game.

On the game-winner, Pospisil did a great job going to the net and barely avoided interfering with the goalie; last year he would have. Zary is cool as a cucumber on his move around Hronek and Stilovs; any Flame player in the last few years in that position to put a game away in OT and they lose the puck and it goes wide of the net. These two players were a revelation last year and they're going to make an even bigger statement this year. They will be long-time pieces of the core in the future. No tradesies.

I dunno - was there a tribute in the Leafs/Habs game? I think while some teams like Philly could do it right off, a fair number of teams might wait for Calgary or CBJ to come to town.

So sorry for your loss.

I'm glad you had a few moments of enjoyment with your family
