Must be nice to have the AHL club also in Calgary. Getting sent down is still not ideal for a player, but being in the same city is way better than having to move to some small city and having to travel every time you're called up/sent back down. I would imagine the players on the farm also feel a lot closer to the big club being in the same city during holidays or longer breaks as some of them maybe would get invited to activities with the NHL guys.

Which is huge because you know if you continually work your arse off in practice and have a good attitude it's going to get noticed more than a highlight package.

Loved seeing:
- the behind the scenes chatter from the team to Honzek before his 1st game,
- the bench laughing in Garland's face when he tried to act tough,
- everything about Lomberg on and off the ice,
- Huska mauling Depo after the OT win as it was his 2000th game,
- Huska constantly emphasizing skating with speed and physicality (playoff hockey)
- the closeness of the team overall, I wonder how different it was last year with all the players halfway out the door.
