Most would have greatly preferred Trudeau having resigned by now an external person come in to take over the liberals. Instead we get PP.

I mean, Liberal voting Canadians voted in the current dunderheads...so clearly their ability to discern who is and isn't a dunderhead is broken.

He was still less of a dunderhead than the opposition put forward. That's the point. We are voting for the lesser dunderhead here.

He was a dunderhead back then, people just weren’t listening to what his dunderhead mouth was saying.

How are they different than the people who voted for Pierre to be leader of the conservatives?
FTR, I didn’t vote liberal just curious as to the logic behind your statement.

I don’t view PP as a complete dunderhead, although the dundering of time will tell the tale on whether or not I’m mistaken on that front.
I am very much in agreement in general with the opinion that no party is really speaking to the middle class the way they should be from a policy perspective, however the Conservatives are the closest to the mark at this time - and any notion of a continuation of what we have, or an inversion with the liberals propping up the NDP is nightmare fuel.
Disruption to incumbent is a necessity in my eyes. It’s time for the Conservatives to come in - and I truly hope it marks a notable change for the positive, because what we’ve had to deal with throughout this government’s time has been atrocious. If the Conservatives can come in and drive some positive change, it will then just force the Liberal party to come back to the table as a competent party, which is something they are not at this time.

I'm curious what positive change Pierre is proposing. He seems very negative, and wants to cut lots of things Canadians rely on. What are some positive ideas he's put forth? What can I actually look forward to under a Conservative PP government?

Pierre is an unserious person playing a serious game. What policy positions he has put forth haven't been be considered in any serious fashion, so they are fairly hard to respond to.

This conservative party will not drive any positive change. They are an unserious party lead by a tool.

Fair enough, albeit a little vague. Remains to be seen how much better one is than the other. I don’t have a lot of faith in Pierre’s ability to lead the country if he gets a majority, but if that happens I hope that he’s better than a lot of people are expecting.

We currently have a minority government, there’s really no incumbent because the CPC could bypass Trudeau altogether if they would work with the bloc and NDP. It’s no secret that I’m not thrilled with the current government but at this time I’m not convinced that a conservative majority would be a better outcome for Canadians than a conservative minority that has to work with another party to get legislation passed.

Whether one likes it or not, I’m not really sure how much getting rid of the carbon tax alone is really going to boost the lives of everyday Canadians. His other plans so far seem to be mostly fluff.

A couple of big “ifs” there in my opinion. I always hope for the best with whatever government we get but the concerning part is the support for a party that themselves haven’t done much to shed some of their let’s call them less than competent stances while hoping that bringing them in will convince other parties to abandon their less than competent stances.
Appreciate the response though. If we end up with a CPC majority hopefully they don’t blow their opportunity.

PP is terrible. Doesn't mean the Liberals are great or anything else. They're all terrible. I guess I just feel this country deserves better.

I guess this is the thing.
"Keep your mouth shut and be thought a fool or speak and remove all doubt."
The Liberals have removed all doubt. Over 9 years. So that ship has likely sailed and its going to take time to wash that stank away.
The Conservatives? They talk a lot but havent done anything yet, but are always portrayed as the 'Boogeyman.' Poilievre as PM is not something I would look forward to.
The rest arent really a serious consideration. If Singh won I think the NDP would be auctioning off photos of his stupefied reaction.
"I have to do what now?"
The problem is...Fuzz is talking about 'hoping' there would be better candidates.
But the problem remains, this is Politics.
"Hope in one hand and #### in the other...see which one fills up first."

I disagree. Granted my vote is still well for sale.
Your choices are:
1. Corrupt Idiot
2. Religious Zealot
3. General Idiot
4. Doesn't really matter
5. Elizabeth May
That is a #### sandwich with extra #### and ranch on the side. But not enough ranch.
Frankly I dont think anyone can be blamed or labeled for their vote given the choices.

Here's a better idea - change the system so these ice cream brains represent the country more proportionally and have to work together to pass policy.

Corrupt Idiot is prob a bottom 3 PM of all time but Maga Pierre would instantly be the WORST PM of all time!
If you vote for the Manning Institute testtube baby, you might as well book your spot on Highway 1 at the soon to close PetroCan and get honks for deplorableness.

Hmm, why is that any of your business lol. Quite the arrogant one to think anyone should answer that.
How many affairs did you have this year with conservatives vs liberal? Again it's not my place to ask.
