Well all of that freaking out was for nothing lol. Didn't expect Schwindt to get picked-up but he does play a more important position so I can understand it from that perspective

lol didn’t expect that. I didn’t think Schwindt was good at all last year. Look forward to playing Vegas.

I wonder if Vegas would have taken Pelletier if Schwindt wasn't there as well.

That's the 2nd best outcome. The best would have been losing none of them, but this is just fine with me. Hopefully Pelletier goes down and figures things out. And more importantly, they keep Cooley who will be back up when they trade Vladar sometime this season.

Overall, not bad at all. A tidy little bit of business if you will.

Just shows how much teams value guys who can play C at even a passable level. And the estimation of Pelletier’s value in the rest of the league.

I'm OK with this scenario. Schwindt was good, but Klapka is the better choice for the checking-line RW position.

I guess we will soon hear if Pelletier (probably) and Cooley (most definitely) get assigned to the Wranglers. Glad he made it through waivers. I would prefer to invest a bit more time and opportunity into a 1st round pick who was trending well until last season. Hopefully he ends up impressing this season and gets recalled.

In the end, this is the best thing for Pelletier, and the Flames. He needs to play, and that needs to happen in the AHL - he certainly wasn't going to be playing regularly with the Flames.

Shame about Schwindt, simply because they need bodies at C. No doubt Conroy will find a body or two somewhere.

No, they could have claimed him as well

Fact is nobody wants him. He needs to work his butt off to get back on track

I'm genuinely amazed that Schwindt was claimed. Always hope for the best for him but he seldom ever moved the needle all that much with the Wranglers.

I expect the Flames will now sign Jaden Lipinski for the Wranglers, a centerman very much in the same mold as Cole Schwindt.

Yeah, I keep waiting (and hoping) for him to raise his game to the next level, but it just never happens. Whenever I watch him, he's just 'there'.

Don't see why they would. They are vastly different players.

Crisis (in my head) averted. All I can hope for now is Pelts to have a huge year like Zary did last year.

Yeah, you have to assume he'll be on the roster (regardless of the Schwindt claim)

Good work by Craig et al. Seems their reconnaissance was generally accurate.

Isn't Morton just better than Schwindt?
