That's 12 Street NE for me now, no problem at 6am but plenty of idiots and close passes on the afternoon ride.

The same ####head was parked in the same spot in the bike lane today. 11:45, Tuesday. Was there at 11:15 Tuesday last time. Detecting a pattern...

During the afternoon trip home I take a completely different route to avoid traffic, it adds on 32 mins but worth it for the safety factor.

Anyone that drives slower than me is a ####ing idiot. Anyone that drives faster than me is a ####ing #######. Pretty simple.
And you know what really grinds my gears? Everything. I just have varying levels of tolerance.

At a somewhat busy non-lighted intersection in my community, there is a marked crosswalk that has the pedestrian lights on it and like 99% of the people who cross this road use it because it's easy to see and cars are watching for pedestrians here (it's beside a school too, so all the kids use the marked cross walk). On the other side of the road there is still a sidewalk on both sides, so technically there is a unmarked crosswalk on the other side of the road too.
My question is - how reasonable is it for someone to cross at the "unmarked" crosswalk instead of using the marked one? Without giving away where I live, the geography of the intersection makes it very easy to use the marked crosswalk no matter where you are coming from or going to.
I accidently didn't see someone step out into unmarked crosswalk and therefore had to stop short (still in time though) and they started shouting at me for not seeing them quicker. I suspect they use the unmarked crosswalk to try and get this sort of thing to happen and was actually pleased that I didn't see them immediately.

If I understand what you are saying you are suggesting it is smarter and safer for a pedestrian to cross 3 roads, or maybe 2, so that they can use the marked cross walk instead of crossing that road on the unmarked side?

It all comes down to the desire line, but without more location info we won't be able to check it out.

Cars that turn left without checking the crosswalk then stopping in the middle of the lane to wait for pedestrians.
We have all been there, for whatever reason. But, as a pedestrian, i sure as #### slow down my pace. If you've never done it before, you sure as #### won't do it again as you sweat bullets with oncoming traffic bearing down on you ready to honk the horn to high holy.

Absolutely reasonable. Sounds like it's even within a playground zone.

Not sure if this is the exact one he means, but it fits the description.

You can even see that the NW to SW corner crossing used to have a painted crosswalk, but they either took it out or let if fade after installing the ped lights. Streetview shows it this way as late as July 2018.
So the idea is you're supposed to cross twice without lights adding 50 meters to your trip to cross once with lights.

Respect is a two-way street. I spent years being extra courteous by default. You carbrains have continued to make the public realm less desirable in the pursuit of reaching your next red light seconds sooner.
Here's one that'll make your head explode. If I can tell someone is speeding in a playground zone and I'm close enough to a crosswalk I'll go ahead and cross slowly even if it's out of my way. Odds are I'll get to #### with another moron by the time I cross back.
Whomever clutches their pearls from my behaviour should re-evaluate their own life. I'm just enjoying the [mostly] fresh air.

Yes, that pic is a very good proxy (though the intersection is not big enough for the small islands with the right turn lanes).
The marked crosswalk from the south corner to the east corner is used all the time with pedestrian lights, and this person crossed from the west corner to the north corner.
Sounds like I'm in the wrong here - I'll take my lumps and move on.

Anything that’s more difficult to say than “Robert” just gets mispronounced down there.

Remember goalie Guy Herbert in Anaheim? First season was so awesome for pronunciation.
Basically sounded like "My sherbert".

Happy to see I'm not the only one who does this. There is a three way stop in the playground zone by our neighborhood elementary that is on my dog walking route. The dogs and I regularly do our part to encourage through traffic to stop blowing the stop sign with our well timed crossing.

How many digits do you get?
Maybe one of those giant stickers for the front of the windshield? Cool.
