Lets look at our own team. A 1st and 2nds for an unsigned Hamilton and a signed Hamonic with 3 years left.

Funnily enough, the feeling around the league was that the Canucks paid a premium and because of that you saw a lot of similar styled players go up on the block in hopes of getting a similar return.

Travelling for work out where Canada’s only team resides according to media.
I’ve sent out an inquiry into the Rasmus speculation and have been told Calgary is listening but in absolutely no rush. They expect to start the season with Rasmus and see how things go.
With that said, he’s definitely not in the long term plans as he wants to compete now for a cup and we likely won’t offer that any time soon but of course that could change. Craig has a high price tag on Rasmus, he’s probably on the best top 4 d-man contract league wide and teams know this. I’ve been told there’s been some more serious interest but the lowball offers for now.
Kings have inquired with Doughty going down for what looks to be long term, but apparently Buffalo is also keeping an eye on the Flames.

The Flames basically need trades to have the same amount of salary coming back or more anyways. Cap dumps will be required

Thanks, that's actually pretty reassuring. Conroy can't give up Rasmus for cheap and it sounds like he has no intention of that.
Without being too greedy, any other teams shown interest?

Dante Fabbro might not be in their plans anymore. He's a serviceable and unexciting player on his last year before UFA.
If the trade is Fabbro, Parssinen, Svechkov and a 1st, it all fits. You might even get a mid-pick for Fabbro at the deadline. Calgary gets a late first and two very good centre prospects, projected as second and third liners.
If Pelletier needs waivers, maybe he goes back with Andersson the other way, and Calgary retains 500K somewhere.

That kind of seems like a bunch of stuff no? No familiar with those prospects.
I would take the picks.

Sabres have been a team I think the Flames should be talking with as they have some compelling young forwards.

If the Preds are a partner in an Andersson deal, I like Surev coming back. A two-way centre with decent size and lots of jam is missing from our prospects cupboard.

I think a lot will depend on how things play out. Level of competitiveness of the team along with injuries throughout the league.
I think this will be an interesting season for the Flames.

Perhaps unlikely but six months at a pretty ridiculous cap hit has value, so who knows.

Only Gilmour there is a centre, and I would suggest Nieuwy was a better true "No. 1 Centre" than Gilmour.

Question I have is, did they give him away or is that the best deal they were going to get?
Perhaps I missed it but I don’t recall Hronek’s name being batted around. I do recall afterwards that the thinking was he wasn’t going to fit into the Wings cap projections, so they moved him and it was probably when they got an offer they deemed fair.
I don’t think he was a problem. Giving a player away is kind of what the Kings just did with PLD, no?

The only risk I see if we hold on to him is injury. Don't think poor play would factor in as we saw with Lindholm.

If the Sabres are keeping a close eye on the Flames I don’t think it’s for Andersson. They already have, arguably, the one of the best top 4’s in the east. I think the Sabres would have interest in Coleman. Similar to the McLeod acquisition, the Sabres need depth in the middle 6/3rd line types. Depth up front hurt them last year.

Agreed. Unless an offer blows the doors off before then.
