Then we'd have to call him Blue Bahls

I guess the Flames will be switching to 2 groups shortly. No surprises here really. It seems there could be more cuts, but this way the Flames have 2 full practice groups.

Not much to go off of and pure speculation, but that might explain an early demotion and signal sent to the youngster.

I don’t think so (?). He said in interviews he’d put on some muscle in preparation for camp and seemed to have been active prior to coming in.
I really think it’s his defensive side. In Seattle he was really just peripheral in the defensive zone, didn’t show any urgency for puck retrieval, and often waited passively for pucks to pop out to him.

Parekh was always going to need more time in the OHL. I don't see this as an early demotion.

I thought Parekh was just fine with potential. This gets me excited for what he’s going to be like in next years camp.

Neon Deon didn't make the team until he was 20.

Phaneuf? He almost-certainly would have made the team at 19 if not for the lockout.

Rhett Warrener also says regularly on barn burner that when they were short in the 04 cup run, playing Brennan Evans, he firmly believes they should've signed Phaneuf and played him and insists they would've won the cup with him.
It was a brief conversation point at the time if I recall, I think Sutter was asked in the media but said that was too much pressure on a 19 year old. It's an interesting argument either way. Phaneuf did peak early in his career
