Quote:
The male is walking slowly towards the main door with his hands raised while stating to the officer, 'I don’t want to die.' The lone officer tells the male to stop talking and continues to point the weapon at him."

As the suspect approached the main doors, two more police officers arrive at the hotel, making the man stop walking.

The first officer then holstered his weapon and attempted to grab the male.

"At no point during the interaction had the male been identified, nor was he ever told he was being detained or under arrest," ASIRT said.

"The male physically resists being grabbed and then is tackled by (the second officer), who then punches the male in the head while both are on the ground."

The other officers fired their CEWs at the suspect and soon all three were involved in the fight to restrain the male, ASIRT said.

About three-and-a-half minutes later, the man was detained on the floor, held by handcuffs and leg restraints.

ASIRT said the suspect was bleeding from the mouth and vomited onto the floor, at which point officers put a spit mask onto him.

EMS attended and administered a sedative to the suspect seven minutes after he was handcuffed, but three minutes later, as he was still left face down, it was noted he was unresponsive.

The suspect was soon after pronounced dead at the scene
Such a sad story regardless if the actions of the police were justified or not.

What's the difference between ordering a pizza or skip. Same thing, never heard of people complaining about ordering pizza delivery when we didn't have these services.

It’s pretty good but I’m ranking “surprised by uptake/confused by the concept of food delivery” a few posts behind “defending GGG’s made up scenario of passing someone at +1km/hr”

Pizza delivery is pretty tried and true at this point. Restaurants know how to box it up and get it out the door in decent shape. This form of food delivery has been perfected. But if you’re ordering a sandwich or french fries and get upset that the food is soggy or the cheese curds on your poutine aren’t squeaky enough when it arrives or whatever, you shouldn’t blame anybody but yourself.

As Wormius noted, pizza delivery has pretty much reached its peak. It's the near-perfect delivery item.

Chinese food and indian food are about as close as you can get to as-good-as restaurant, but still suffer.

Almost all other foodstuffs are worse delivered, and are more expensive with fees, tips, and hidden costs. Couple that with the predatory/aggressive actions these apps take on restaruants, the "need" for low paid, gig workers, the added traffic etc. its all trash.

There’s a difference between paying $5 extra for a $25 pizza to be delivered for several people and someone ordering a single-serve item from Skip.

My friend’s daughter orders McDonalds’ pancakes through Skip once a week. They cost $5. She pays $12 for them to be delivered to her at home, in a state that’s worse than what you get at McDonald’s. Like I said, people place different valuations on convenience.

Your friend's daughter is an idiot.

And thats not Skip's fault.

You people who choose to spend your discretionary income in ways you see fit disgust me. You’re out here ordering food, not driving to pick it up yourself, not spending the gas, not sitting down with a coat and tie to enjoy a succulent Chinese meal, not tipping the waiter with a shiny fifty cent piece, simply disgusting. Barbarians, foolhardy spendthrifts, and cowards the lot of you.

If they offer it, always order delivery directly through the restaurant instead of Skip and save yourself a good 10-20% markup.

Remember when pizza had "free" delivery? How much of the delivery costs was embedded in the price of the pie? Then, they started adding the $3 or $4 delivery charge, but pizza prices didn't decrease. So now we're paying a fee on top of the baked-in delivery price.

My point? Pizza should cost less. Also, a large pizza is a single-serving item. Also, delivery sucks for anything but pizza.

Almost ended the life of some dip#### on a crotch rocket today. Driving on Stoney, shoulder check before a lane change, all clear. Just before I start my move I do another quick check and just barely catch a glimpse of a bike rocketing past me at around 160 or so (and this was on the right side). Bikes can be hard to see in ideal conditions, but when the sun is going down on a fast moving road they can be nigh invisible until it's too late if they're being an idiot. And this guy had a helmet, but no other gear beyond that, just jeans and a t-shirt. Do these jackasses really have no self preservation instinct?

That's true, but the added benefit of skip is you don't have to have logins for 10 different restaurants, plus at least half of them just spam you with emails.

A young person, spending money poorly? My word.

You know what saves more money than driving to McDonalds for Pancakes? Buying a box for four bucks and making 40 pancakes but who the hell cares what small stuff people are throwing money away for

Also in what world is anyone paying 12 bucks for delivery?

#### it, I'm getting pancakes. Not that six bucks is good, but we don't need to double up for a lie.
