Green text on: maybe flames should have given these players a shot instead of stacking the teams and running the score up against the veteran kraken and oiler lineups. Green text off.

They're basically waiting for the AHL camp to start. Which isn't for another week or so no?

Edit: the AHL preseason starts Oct 1.

Still 5 more pre-season games left and we had Honzek,Coronato, Schwindt, Bishop, Rooney, Klapka, Stromgren, and Morton play back to back for forwards, and Brzustewicz, and Grushnikov for d-men.

Feels like we could have gotten Battaglia and Morin a game but I'm also not at the practices, or aware of any potential injuries that they might have.

Not saying it's bad, just surprising to me that those two top prospects that are both recent 2nd round picks didn't get into a game before being sent down.

I think we're reading too much into it with Morin.

They just signed him in July after his "off" year, and I doubt he mailed in the pro camp. Maybe a tweak of something that had him out of the preseason mix and now going back to junior to heal.

I liked McNamara's play in the rookie tourney. Maybe we see him again down the road.

Could also be that they've previously laid out and communicated a roadmap for Morin, know him well as a player, gave him his current appraisal/progress report and are letting him get on with it.

Contrast to Parekh who is new to the team and coaching staff. So a full appraisal of his skills and shortcomings, and a few extra days of impressing upon him their expectations is probably a good approach to take prior to returning him to junior.

I remember an interview he had on the Fan about a year ago where he seemed exceptionally self-aware of the work he needed to do on his game. The kid comes off as remarkably realistic and driven.

I get the feeling he would be one to take this in stride.

Morin is doing fine. There's also so much competition in camp at D, keeping him around also dilutes the coaching staff's attention from the guys that are legitimately competing for a spot.

Edit: the Wildcats' have already played two regular season games. Makes sense to send him down and get his season started already

I wonder if the veteran rules for pre-season plays into it. 2024 fiirst round picks qualify, but maybe they squeeze out a bunch of these other junior players.

Im excited for Basha long term, I think he can develop into a good supplmentary player that can create offense on his own. He's had some really good zone entries off the rush that have stoodout for me.

Misa, Battaglia, Mews, and Morin are still players we can be very excited about.

Mews looked like he was in over his head at the youngstars tournament

Really? Gosh, I gotta disagree with you there- I thought he had some shaky moments, but was alright overall....

Mews moved up the prospect rankings quite a bit for me over that camp, but I guess we'll see.
