Will be fun. About to go to work with a huge Republican supporter. Not a deplorable but definitely a Trumper. Will be interesting to see/hear the spin.

Get ready to hear all about how unfair the moderators were, and how it was “3 on 1”. Which is definitely the kind of thing “winners” say.

They'll just blame the moderator, most likely, and say that she seems fake.

I don't know how anyone could watch that debate and think that they could possibly vote for Trump.
At the same time, I'm not sure why no one is criticizing Harris here. Every time Trump opened his mouth, it was just straight lies, but Harris wasn't too far off. She said some downright stupid and misleading things herself.

The newest conspiracy is that Kamala's earrings during the debates look awfully similar to some fancy earrings that have built in mic.
She was obviously being fed every single line.
Wake up sheeple!

What were some of those examples? I thought Harris's content was mostly pretty solid.

She definitely fumbled when Trump asked which month she would support abortions up to. That's an obvious one to prepare for, and she seemed totally broadsided by it.

What is a good answer to that question? I think she replied she supported what Roe v Wade protected, which seems fine.
Any limit is problematic for women and Doctors, but saying there shouldn't be a limit is a problem politically.

Lol Musk offered to impregnate Taylor Swift after her endorsement.
Definitely not weird at all.

There's a lot of ways to spin it. I just listened to the NYT podcast The Daily, which really was another masterclass at subtle spin doctoring.
Basically their storyline is that, yes Harris won etc. but the way they frame it is: "She basically avoided answering any substantive questions about her own policy backflips, about her association with Biden, she went on offense and managed to catch Trump in a trap in pretty much every question, in basically every answer she embedded something in there, a sentence or a line that unravelled Trump and got him on an angry tear."
"When you look at the debate overall, he was fine for the first 15 minutes, he was angry and unravelling for the middle 40 at least, and sort of got his footing back at the end. There will be a lot of analysis saying how catastrophic it was...
"Really, they’ll Use that word?" (In a surprised voice)
"...I don't see it quite like that, I see it as a huge missed opportunity for Trump, this was his chance to define Kamala Harris... So it was a huge missed opportunity for Trump..."
"She passed that minimum test that she needed to present herself as a plausible (seriously they kept saying that's a thing she needs to prove, wtf NYT?) president" while he just "missed the opportunity to define her as a radical leftist, as someone who owns every (strong emphasis on that word) of the Biden record that you don't like." And that's where they end the analysis.
*slow clap* That is frankly brilliant work. Admit the defeat, but frame the win as "she managed to trap him with words, it was a minimum win for her, for him it was a missed opportunity for a potential win, and oh she's a radical leftist and is responsible for everything hate." (But we didn't say that exactly).
And this is how Trump is still in the race.

I don't know a good answer to that question, but the way she fumbled showed it hadn't been considered. It is a hard question to answer specifically because their is a lot of nuance, and not one to be tackled in a 10 seconds. I'm not saying it was a deal breaker or massive mistake, it was just surprising she didn't have a way to move on smoothly. Instead it looked like a point for Trump that she didn't need to give.

Sure, I guess. Media just keeping the race open for ratings.
Kamala went on the offense like she should have and hit Trump where it hurts, his ego. Why does Kamala say anything substantive if Trump doesn't?
