The white jersey on the rock at the memorial was mine in that video that BigThief posted. It was the first white jersey I ever bought. I always wanted one and I figured getting one to match my red Gaudreau jersey would be fitting. Because that one was special and unique to me, I felt it best to contribute.
I am still kind of in disbelief that this actually happened even though its been a while. I am grateful for all of our contributions to be able to let that poor family know how much we care for them and him.
Seeing the video from the funeral, I just want to give everyone there a hug. I feel so sad and sorry that Guy and Jane and Sean and all the rest of them are going through all this. There really isn't anywhere to put the sorrow and grief at the senselessness of the whole situation. It just is so sad.

I noticed Giordano, Hanifin, Eichel at the funeral during the stream as well.

You have to wonder about the mental health aspect for the players who go back in a few weeks.
Normally hockey would have been a distraction, not the case here.

Seems like a lot of Flames. Just a bunch who left us.
He had no real interaction with the players on this team.

I’d be shocked if Mony starts the season.
I just hope the NHL and PA is doing what they can to help and support the players.

I hope he goes into that room with his voice and scores 100 goals this season.

I'll be cheering for the Jackets this season. (In addition to the Flames, of course.)

I’m sure they will have grief counselling available. The team should give him and the players as much time.
Especially Monny. I know we all want him to have a big season, but it’s just not that easy.

Get a Monahan jersey, cheer him on.
When this all happened my thoughts wandered to Sean Monahan, I wanted him to come back "home" to Calgary. After yesterday, seeing how close he is to Johnny's parents, how close he was to Johnny himself, how special that friendship was to Meredith Gaudreau, those thoughts totally faded. I think he's exactly where he needs to be.

Today was gut wrenching to watch and no family should have to go through that! There is never an excuse to get behind the wheel while under the influence, none! I hope the family eventually can pick themselves up from this as best as they can but things will never be the same unfortunately. My heart goes out to the Gaudreau family, friends, fans, and everyone impacted by this! In times when many of us are already struggling with mental health this has been a really rough tragedy, take care of yourselves and show eachother love and compassion, that's what Johnny and Matty would want. Again, I certainly do not blame Gaudreau for being closer to his family, it was the right choice. I just wish he was still there with them today. I will return to lurking now.

Maybe ask the mods for a placement in the permanent sin bin so you aren't tempted again in the future.

I'm sure he'll start, absent a physical injury.

One of the things that I was really excited to see this season was Johnny and Monahan together again. I didn't necessarily have high expectations for them but I was happy to see the nostalgia of them playing together. It is a real shame that won't happen now.

As they say, the show must go on. Many NHL players lost friends in the Lokomotive Plane crash and I don't remember anyone missing time for that. It may sound a bit harsh, but after the funeral, life must go on. I'm pretty sure that Johnny and Matthew both would want people to keep playing hockey if they were still around. I expect many of these guys to be inspired to play with some of that passion and excitement we all saw from Johnny many times.

Yeah, really tough watching Guy exit yesterday under the support of Jane and his daughter. Seeing him is what got me the worst yesterday. I still remember Guy being absolutely DONE with everyone sitting around him during one of the Flames games as he was intensely focused on the game and his son, Johnny, and moved as far the hell away from them in that section as he could, to watch in peace. Guy is a total beauty.
