The local CBS news affiliate in Philly has their entire stream on youtube, they stayed a good amount after the service ended. Seeing Guy and Jane Gaudreau go to each hearse to say goodbye then both hugging Sean Monahan was utterly heart breaking.

It depends, both were reported on and hinted at but the closest source I know suggested that Meredith loved calgary, had built her social circle here and wanted to raise the kids here. Her vote was calgary.
In the end it doesn't matter as they chose together and were going to be happy no matter where they were. But I didn't buy and confirmed strongly enough for my own feelings that this wasn't the "the woman came in and stole him from our city" weird opinion/rumour that was going around at the time.

Ugh. So glad I turned it off then.
My body couldn’t take anymore grief after seeing them depart the church.
I still feel so heartbroken and upset about it and I’m just a fan.
Absolutely unfair for everyone there today, just an absolute tragedy that was 100% avoidable.

Yeah I don't she came and stole him, it seems like he was thinking about this long before getting married.
I knew the family was close, but this week has shown that maybe I misjudged just how close they are.

Johnny made the right choice entirely, and I'm so glad he got to spend more time out East. He was close enough to home that Guy was able to attend each and every Jackets home game that Johnny played in Columbus. He didn't miss a single one, from what I heard. That's so important in hindsight.

Watching Guy was hard, his daughters and wife pretty much had to hold on.
All I remember is that big smile on his face, and his intensity during the game.

While I still read CP and had no intentions on posting again I just want to say that none of it matters now, today was much bigger than misinformation. I get my info from sources that get it wrong some times, my info came from FS and I ran with it. As I said in my prior post I was wrong, today is not a day to point fingers or squabble.. Today was gut wrenching to watch and no family should have to go through that! There is never an excuse to get behind the wheel while under the influence, none! I hope the family eventually can pick themselves up from this as best as they can but things will never be the same unfortunately. My heart goes out to the Gaudreau family, friends, fans, and everyone impacted by this! In times when many of us are already struggling with mental health this has been a really rough tragedy, take care of yourselves and show eachother love and compassion, that's what Johnny and Matty would want. Again, I certainly do not blame Gaudreau for being closer to his family, it was the right choice. I just wish he was still there with them today. I will return to lurking now.

Mangianpane was in the back too, you can see him a few moments as the crowd parts. Sean with Guy and Jane was devastating, especially since the last moments we Monahan and Johnny together in Calgary is that now classic embrace off the ice.
The whole thing is just beyond messed up... I feel terrible for the whole family but especially Meredith. The real pain starts when the newness of the event goes away, when you run out of photos to post on social media, when the tributes stop pouring in and when life continues. Her going through the timeline of their life together was just gut wrenching. She starts with "2018" like.. that's it.. they built such a huge life in such a short amount of time. The layers of sadness attached to this event, she's with child as well? Just unreal.

It will be difficult but the family is so close I’m sure they will take good care of her and the babies. She also has Monny and his wife.

The only thing missing from this funeral was Elton John singing a rendition of Shooting Star.

I am pretty sure I saw a glimpse of Lindholm and his wife as well.

Wow I'm a bit shocked Hudler made the trip, that's commendable and sad as they had a strong connection.
Markstrom, Lindholm, Rasmus, Stajan were all there too.
