Sutter seems to like drafting like the Devils...always picking up better players later while everyone else scrambles to get the guys they want.

Still good.
I like the trade, it's smart. Clearly they have somebody in mind and can pick him, while adding another pick later on.

Whoops. You're right, my bad.

Prediction: Flames draft Petrecki or a dman with the first pick, and then use the 70th overall to draft Maxime Tanguay, who is pegged to go around 60th.

Yeah, suck it up eh? Columbus suxorz. He should be happy that he got fired. Maybe people will forget his Federov trade. Nah that will never happen.

I hope this draft finally teaches the lesson that all the pre-draft rankings, THN, Redline, McKeens and other reports matter not. As Timbit always says - each team has their own list - and that's the only list that matters.

Sutter does a lot of things like the Devils do...which isnt a bad approach considering their track record the past 10-12 years.

Absolutely...and Sutter must seriously feel that his guy will still be there at 24th.

Why stop there? Maybe Sutter can trade the 24th pick and the 3rd rounder for three 6th round picks. High draft picks are way overrated.

At the very least it's 70th overall, which is the top third of the third round.
Obviously Sutter and crew have their guy targeted and they should still get him and they add an extra pick.
