Then those people should be furious they were lied to. Are they? It's also incredibly shallow and short sighted, and technically selfish too. Having your single issue about governance be low taxes indicates just how little thought they put into their vote.

A lawyer who previously represented “Freedom Convoy” organizers has been appointed to an Alberta government police review board.
Brendan Miller, based in Calgary, was appointed to the Law Enforcement Review Board(opens in a new tab) on Aug. 27, via a Government of Alberta order in council.

“Danielle Smith has appointed the lawyer for the convoy protest to the board, who was ejected from the Rouleau Commission by security for unruly behaviour. This appears to be yet another attempt to please the far right of the party, and it shows just how far from mainstream Alberta society the UCP has drifted.”

This ####ing moron got dummied so hard over and over. Which totally qualifies him for taxpayer dollars and an important oversight roll, I guess. This should be shocking, but it's really par for the course from this blithering idiot of a premier.

In 2019, they dropped that to 75 percent, and in 2023 it’s down to 50%. So the province sits on a multibillion dollar surplus and chokes cities off. This of course hurts Edmonton by far the worst due to it being the capital, to the tune of over $80 million, annually.
There are so many examples of her doing things like this, she doesn’t want the big cities to succeed if they aren’t going to vote for her. She bought Calgary off last time with the arena in ine do the most crass examples in the moderne era and the oil and gas sector is still very conservative but if she wins again and loses a few more seats there the hostility will increase. She’s basically warning you already of that.
As an aside to this rant I love how anyone these days left of a fundamentalist, Christian right winger has become a socialist. They don’t even begin to understand what socialism is and isn’t, they just hurl it around.

She is that vile POS type of politician that would rather tear people down who didn't vote her than try and win back their respect to convince them to vote for her next time.
She is completely nuking any potential gains in Edmonton next election and ensuring another NDP sweep. And as people move towards big cities in Alberta, she's not winning any new votes. She's just likely hardening her rural base more who were already going to vote for her anyways.
What an absolute travesty of a public servant. This is frothing-at-the-mouth Trump style bull####. Also, I love how she was all "rah rah Edmonton" when the Oilers made it to the Finals, and yet with the other side of her mouth she'll tear that city a new #######. Spiteful, petty, and not fit to govern.

Racism isn't exclusive to conservatism.
There are several reasons to want to leave the MAGA/DS conservatism crowd than just racism.

The verbal piss-soaked vomit being discussed at this town hall should be fun. It's a secret meeting and no one can record anything - not suspicious at all!
Marlaina and her goons are the ####ing worst.

I guess that's what they consider freedom to look like? Not even the fortitude to stand behind his own words for the public to see. Nope. Bunch of cowards. Which reminds me of this, that I just had to snap a picture of.

Lower taxes and they believe, by default, that conservatives are better stewards of tax dollars. If you ask them, they'll bring up how the NDP wasted $160,000 by paying an out-of-province company to replace light bulbs. What never seems to enter their minds is the $80M spent on Turkish Tylenol for Tots or $1.6B on a pipeline to connect to another in the U.S. that everyone in the world knew was not going to be built.

Don't forget the recent $100M to get back to the previous status quo for lab testing. I wonder how many schools we could buy for that money.

I know how many; you could build 4-5 new schools with that type of money.

Since the fetus threatens the pursuit of happiness and liberty of the carrier and is trespassing there rights have clearly been forfeited until birth.

Property?!?!?!
This is some stupid "Stand your ground" and "Castle Doctrine" BS!
Someone is stealing your lawn chair? Cool, you're okay to kill them.
That's literally what this means, and how it works in the backward ass states that have adopted this kind of legislation.
F*** these clowns!

IANAL and maybe I'm reading this wrong, but that certainly sounds to me that if a petty thief grabs a woman's handbag and tries to run off with it, either the woman or a bystander have carte blanche to protect the property by shooting the thief while they're running away. Cool, cool.
