There's so much real estate between short shorts and knee covering shorts that it's mind boggling. The ideal short length is clearly somewhere within 2-4 inches above the knee. Higher than that is a real short short. Longer is sloppy.
There is no one on earth who should take anything approaching fashion or style tips from someone who wears cargo shorts.

Right above the kneecap for me. Perfect sweet spot. Give or take an inch or two, sure
None of this fully exposed thigh bs that you see nowadays. Almost always on some bird legged little #### too

I love a good short short
I wear tight shorts around the house and yard a fair bit. They are comfortable, flexible and allow my thighs the air they need.

Yeah this. Aside from the beach, exposed thigh shorts on guys just looks weird / attention craving...but if your legs are jacked, you can at least get away with it.
But wearing shorts that short when you've just got skinny (or fat) legs is the same as when a very out of shape person wears a tank top around town. Rough look.

Well no one is talking about walking around in your boxers, but they are called shorts for a reason. Just like a short skirt, a short skirt doesn't hang below a girls knees.
You want to wear something below the knees wear jeans, or whatever pants you wear.
