No pets, but I stopped using the swiffer when it became apparent it wasn't cleaning so much as just spreading the grime around more evenly. It took 2 or 3 full passes with new pads to actually get the floor clean, and it was total #### at any big spill or stain. Swapped it out for a Bissell Crosswave and never looked back, floor takes half the time to clean since you don't have to vacuum or sweep first and when my daughter spilled a big bowl of cereal it took care of it no sweat. Plus you're not locked in to some proprietary cleaning solution, you can just use water or a vinegar solution if you don't want to buy the Bissell stuff

I'm going to the Great Outdoors Comedy Fest at Princes Island this weekend. Where's the best street parking place nearby that isn't a Park & Ride/Parkade?

There’s a lot on 2nd St SW between 2nd Ave and Riverfront that is usually pretty empty and generally super cheap on the weekend.

Have you considered rafting there and just tying up on the bridge?
Granted a feckless cyclist might pilfer your conveyance but thems the breaks sometimes.

Going to Metallica in Edmonton tonight. Where's the best place for someone to be dropped off at Commonwealth so the driver doesn't get stuck in traffic for an hour?

Coliseum lrt station? Then you’re only 1 stop away and they’re near thoroughfare to get out.
Depends on when you show up too. If you’re early, it’ll be during rush hour.
Otherwise 112th seems like a good spot. On second thought maybe that’s exactly what you’re trying to avoid. 112th goes right past the stadium and will likely be crazy busy. My first suggestion of lrt was probably better.
But I know very little about Edmonton other than it’s no good. This is just based on my planning for getting to and from show.

Has anyone tried killing a bunch of wasps using a shop vac? Read you can fill the vac with some soapy water to drown them all.
I'm not talking about nest here, it's just bunch of wasps around Aspen trees attracted to the aphid crap.

I've never had to do it, but I've always thought that parking by the old science centre area by the West end and then biking/electric scootering etc. to PIP wouldn't be a bad idea. I'm sure the same could be done by parking around East village and using the bike paths to get over to PIP.
As others have mentioned, there's typically a ton of parking around PIP so it's not too crazy even during something like Canada Day.

Screw that. I legit still have the memory of getting stung by wasps or bees about 50-80 ft away as my dad attacked a nest that was in the side of our house with a shop vac. I think I was like 6 or 7. If you miss a single one with the shop vac, you'll have an angry one flying around the vicinity. Miss a few and you gotta abandon the plan, and then everyone within a few hundred metres is ####ed for the next hour or so.

Get these. They're relatively cheap and they're yellow jacket killing cheat codes.

Last year we parked on the north side and walked.
It’s going to be BUSY so I’d stay away from parking on the south side.

They work great. I hung one up at the cabin this summer. We don’t have nests, but believe that the neighbors do…

Those ####ing things are amazing
Ensure you put them in the right spot, cuz they attract Hornets et al to their death.
We put one down the side of our house we never really use, no access to backyard. It fills up in no time.
DO NOT PUT IT OUT WHERE YOU HANG OUT
A buddy of mine hung it on his pergola.........

Once they fill up holy crap do they stink. They are the perfect solution to wasps, though. Erases the problem.

I put one of those out every spring when the queens first appear. Haven't had a nest near my house since then. Warning, if you put them out when there are lots of wasps already established they will swarm the trap, it's like a bloody waspocolyse.

We’ve got quite the insect battle thunder dome going on at our place with those wasp traps. We are out in the country and it’s a constant battle with wasps, but this year we really hadn’t noticed any until a few weeks ago. I noticed two massive nests in the forest and they were of the massive bald faced hornet variety, so I bought a few of those wasp traps ASAP. I kind of forgot how long it had been since I put them out and now the flies are really swarming them too, which is perfect as this is the time of year the flies go crazy. Well, we seem to have another wave of hornets come in the last few days and now there are constant battles of wasps vs flies in the traps. The wasps are just lethal, if a fly gets in their way they bite off their heads and that’s that.

Got a wasp sting today. Now I have what looks like a sac filled with puss or poison. Should I break it to drain it or leave it alone?
Edit: nurse says leave it alone.

I don't know, but have you taken an antihistamine yet? My wife had a bad one on her forehead last year and her face was so swollen we went to the hospital. They told us you should take an antihistamine right after a bite.
