Fallout did what The Last of Us did: faithfully adapt the source material while holding broad appeal to a larger audience.
And just FYI to people who haven't played the Fallout games - the show is a completely unique story set in the same universe. So while it references events of the games, you don't have to worry about gamers spoiling the show.
Walton Goggins as the Ghoul is about as perfect a casting choice you could make.

Hmmm...I too like finance films and shows....The Big Short is one of my favourite films.
I might have to give this a shot.
Thanks!
Quite enjoyable. The finance/trading jargon is all there, but it's more about the psychological aspect of working as a young professional in a very toxic environment. Still a fun one to watch. just finishing up season 1 currently.
This thread is titled, "I need a new TV series to get into old or new"
Well, here's the old...
If you have the ability to subscribe to Peacock I would do so just for this show. I've recommended it heartily before, but here we go again.
Homicide: Life on the Street.
This is the precursor to The Wire from creator David Simon. It's a gritty look at homicide detective on the Baltimore beat. It's unflinching, funny, sad, and entirely human. It's a far departure from Law and Order type shows where the detectives have a small amount of backstory, but 99% of the show is about the weekly procedural.
Instead, we are invited into the messy world of detectives. About their personal struggles, their divorces, their biases etc. We see the world of homicide as it plainly is, with lots of red under the ledger (you'll get the reference if you watch it).
You may recognize some of the actors, but first and foremost is Andre Braugher playing Frank Pembleton. Brilliant, cold, stoic, and mercurial, Pembleton's portrayal is why I fell in love with Braugher as an actor. You all go to know him later as Captain Holt on Brooklyn 99, which is sort of a send up of his Pembleton character. There are many other great performances from Yaphet Kotto, Ned Beatty, Melissa Leo, Kyle Secor, Richard Belzer, Clark Johnson as well.

I just saw Miracle Workers is now on Prime. It's such a weird show that it's hard to describe. They made 4 seasons, but it's an anthology with a different self-contained story each season, but the same main cast -- which includes Daniel Radcliffe and Steve Buscemi.
Spoiler!
In the first season, Radcliffe is a low-level angel who works in the prayer answering division of Heaven. Buscemi is God and wants to destroy the Earth and try something new. This is the most-logical and straight-forward season (and also the only season where the name of the show makes sense).
Season 2 takes place in the Dark Ages.
Season 3 is the Oregon Trail.
Season 4 is a Mad Max parody.
It originally aired on TBS in the States and Comedy (I think) in Canada, but never really got much hype.
