i'll be the first to admit that i'm not a huge fan of cyclists - so many just seem to do whatever they want while riding and then can't understand why they get/almost get hit (just this past weekend i was out with my son and said, 'i bet that lady on the bike doesn't stop for the red light.' unfortunately i was correct, fortunately she didn't get hit.)

but all that to say this really ticks me off - what kind of idiot would do something like this...

Police investigating wire tied across BC bike lane
A scary incident for cyclists in North Vancouver has led to a police investigation.
On the BC Road Cycling Facebook group, Stewart Martin says he was exiting the north end of the Second Narrows Bridge around 3 pm Saturday when he discovered a wire tied across the bike path.
“The person in front of me was able to duck and it hit his helmet,” Martin said, noting that the wire was tied around four feet off the ground on a blind corner.
“This was a deliberate act,” Martin added. “We removed the wire, but the culprit could replace it.”

Probably makes it a bit tricky when the guys who took it too far and ruined the spirit of the thread are the ones who lobbied to get it shut down.

Even the guy they tried to doxx was happy to keep it going lol. And sure enough, they’re back at it in here after they got their way. Bizarre.

I’m not quite sure what I’d call what happened in that thread, but it wasn’t spam or trolls or hate. Maybe you could say halfbreed trolls were being a little bit hateful or something…but it was no more cringe than GT threads (so pretty cringe, but that’s no reason for moderation)
