I'm pretty sure ZM kept calling out a fake Flames fan that was really an Oilers fan all playoffs. I don't recall any cheering for the Oilers. I may not be a fan of the posting style of posters who continually find themselves banned, but being an Oilers fan is not the reason.

Edmonton is no good.

Hlinka cup.

It’s 9-0 against Switzerland, Canada score a 10th with under a minute to go

Do they need to blow that obnoxious horn so long?

apparently not, i guess they are just working through details such as how much of a team friendly deal he will be taking to stay in that beautiful city to win multiple cups. this takes time.

Highly doubt his fiancé wants to live in Edmonton. He just proposed to her in the summer, honestly to me that’s a huge concern for Edmonton fans. She likely doesn’t want to be there for 3/4 of the year.

This is exactly why people outside shelbyville dislike the oiler franchise. This kind of unthinkable hire is only seemingly acceptable with them. When I said in the playoffs that this was a motley crew of jerks, #######s, and people who had credible legal allegations made against them, I wasn't being 'colourful'. The oilers 'hockey club' has fully embraced the idea of hiring scumbags to their office, and signing scumbag players under the veil of giving players a '2nd chance'.

In reality, it's simply a shortcut and choosing an easy route. They know they're an undesirable market. Edmonton sucks. Look, I'm a born and raised Winnipegger so I know the optics of it and how it sucks to have players not want to come to your city. The only city in the NHL with a lower desirability than Edmonton is my hometown. But the Jets have attempted to deal with this handicap in an honourable way by being loyal to players (often to a fault) and trying to develop young players and get them invested in the organization.

The oilers are gross, unethical, and disgusting.

When she accepted his proposal, her response was...

"I do. As long as you promise not to re-sign in Edmonton."

Especially when he has the option of going pretty much anywhere he wants. There are several playoff calibre teams in much nicer cities that would definitely make room to accommodate him.

Case in point, Ovechkin. When he got older, his numbers stayed the same, but he was simply not the same force he was on the ice when he was young. Ovechkin was top 10 in hits many seasons, and would punish guys up and down the ice.

As for McDavid, he relies heavily on speed for large parts of his game. Posters are correct, that McDavid wouldn't, for example, lose his vision on the PP, but his ability to storm into the offensive zone and blow past defenders is gone with his speed. That's a huge part of his current game.

Players also lose the ability to constantly engage physically as they get older. You become far more injury prone and brittle as you get older. So you either back off or end up like Forsberg, injured all the time.

Can’t imagine the panic amongst oiler fans and media if they don’t get it done in time and Draisaitl’s team says they won’t negotiate during the season. After every game they win… or even after every time McDavid passes to Draisaitl, guys like Spector will be asking Draisaitl “Isn’t it nice playing here with McDavid? Don’t you think you should sign a contract right away?”

A few weeks after the Panthers won the Cup I enlisted the help of good friend and CP member bc-chris. My golf pro in Nanton is a huge Oilers fan and I wanted to prank him good. Chris was my enabler and was kind enough to send me some monogramed toilet paper with the" LOSER" logo on it.

Took my pro a few days to figure out it was me. He ended up being a good sport and had a good laugh over it.

I’m gonna repeat this until Pissy signs in California.

Oilers fans are sooooo convinced that he’s signing in Edmonton.

We learned this with Gaudreau,

Until he’s signed, he hasn’t signed.

I think you're right. But to play devil's advocate I get the impression he likes to be miserable, Edmonton is the perfect place for him in that regard.
