I don’t know why they specify washing your car, since it was never allowed regardless of the water restrictions? Or were there people who’d drive their car onto their lawns and wash them so the run off didn’t go down storm drains, and this stipulation is so those people don’t do it?

Yes, they mean at home. Car washes are allowed to be open.

Normally, you can wash your car on your driveway or street if you're using just water, with no soap or other cleaning products.

Oh interesting, I always thought even just water wasn’t allowed since I have never witnessed anybody just hosing off their car in the driveway.

I guess it’s really no different than if it just rained and you left your car out.

WestJet is grinding my gears, especially recently. I've had a number of delays of 6, 8, 12 hours, sometimes with no explanation. Just a new flight time. "Hey, we've rebooked your 8 a.m. flight for 3 p.m. Just thought you should know." kind of thing. Now, I have to try and rebook my meetings on a holiday Monday. It's becoming more common with WestJet and it's gmg.

Yeah it's been a rough summer for WestJet.

Honestly they kinda lost me when they refused to bring ground handling back in house post covid. You can't be taken seriously if your planes are late waiting to be brought into gate because your underpaid third party ground crew went for slurpees. At some random airport, sure, but at your HQ and major hub? #### outta here

When your phone number gets spoofed by spammers and people actually call you to find out why you called. I ignore any incoming calls with the same prefix as mine, everyone should. Is the point of this to just create a cycle of never-ending irritation? There should be a PSA done and post it on whatever media channel that people who like answering unknown numbers would watch or read.

The Olympics being at the top of my news feed.

It’s not news, and I don’t care. Especially about the summer games. The IOC is corrupt, and most winning athletes are cheating one way or another.

I was pissed to see it goes for an entire additional week.

Got a link to back that claim up? I'd love to see one.

I mean I don't think running has evolved that much in 36 years. I'm sure the art of doping has though

I honestly can’t tell if this is a serious post or not. You really don’t think there’s been any changes to diet, health, exercise, training, equipment, technique, track surfaces in the last 36 years?

You don't think training has evolved that much in 36 years among other things?

Look at the nhl as an example at players from 36 years ago and today. Such a massive difference in eating, training, it isn't even close.

Don't know how you can say it's all doping.

It’s none of that. It’s actually that time is moving faster than it was in 1988.

The speed limits and condition of Deerfoot this summer are a total joke.

Carl Lewis probably was not clean anyways...he popped for three stimulants at the '88 Trials and gave the old cold medicine excuse (maybe not such an old excuse at the time).

The 8th fastest man in 2024 is one hundredth of a second faster than the fastest man 36 years ago...sounds pretty reasonable to me.

I’d bet most are doping at some point in their careers. Too much money to be made not to dope.

You look at the 1988 final and every single athlete was doping. The anti doping rules don’t stop doping, they ensure that doping remains at a level that less people die from it and that spectators can enjoy a veneer of authenticity if they choose not to look to hard.

When did this new phenomenon of drivers stopping under bridges start when its hailing or raining? I swear I've only noticed it happening maybe starting in 2020. Never before that.

I just don't get it. It's so dangerous. The police need to set up cameras at bridges and ticket anyone who stops.

That's my point, '88 is regarded as the dirtiest Olympics ever (at least in athletics), and now the best runners of that era would merely be average now. I understand the advancements in diet, training, tracks, etc, but IMO that alone wouldn't get athletes under the times of the super juiced era without also being on some sort of PED. They're just much better at hiding it now. Same with baseball, there's no way a normal ball player will ever reach Bonds-McGuire-Sosa type HR numbers without also taking some sort of enhancements

Dude! I was saying the same thing to my wife a few months ago. Back in the day you would see the rare biker sitting under there, waiting out the storm. But now it’s soccer moms in 4Runners. wtf

Drivers also took over all the gas stations I passed while driving around peigan and 36th street. That's a new one - 8 pumps on each station, every spot with an idling vehicle waiting out the storm under the roof. If I actually needed gas I'd pull up and start honking and then get out and tell someone to get the hell outta there and let me fill up gas.

The little convoy of 3 vehicles, truck/trailer combo, a normal suv and a full size/lifted SUV, driving together on the two lane highway yesterday afternoon. Hey dummies leave more room between your cars so people can pass easier/safely instead of making people pass all 3 of you at one time.
