Non-binding, sure. I can go to the library tomorrow morning and poll anybody who wants to participate on any topic, then report the results on here. They can do the same thing.

That seems to me what Obama was suggesting with his comments - "We will be navigating uncharted waters in the days ahead. But I have extraordinary confidence that the leaders of our party will be able to create a process from which an outstanding nominee emerges."

Creating a process suggests - to me, anyway - involving the people. At the very least, our congressional representatives. Having it chosen for us is the most undemocratic thing possible. People will not take kindly to that. I don't know why there is such abject fear of an open convention.

Someone made a good point. They need to get a candidate in a hurry. It takes time to get logos made. Lawn signs printed.

It takes the same amount of time to do that for any logo. You also really don't see the entire town littered with lawn signs during an election as in Canada, for whatever reason (I honestly don't know why). They're pretty rare.

I lived in CA-48 last time before Census redistricting. Biden won by 1.4 and the Republican won the House seat by 2.2. It's about as split as it gets.

I just finished a trip that took me through North and South Dakota plus Wyoming and Montana. Guess what I saw a lot of...Especially in Keystone which is the tourist ville right by Mount Rushmore. It's not even 3 weeks and I have to think the shirt options will be totally different than the amusing ones I saw.
