Pelosi and Schumer also haven't explicitly endorsed Harris. The reason I heard speculated is that all 3 were some of the most influential in getting Biden to step away so they don't want to appear to also be influencing the decision on a replacement since they're already on the bad side of those who thought Biden should stay (who are those people??).
Plausible I guess.

Newsom has endorsed Harris.
EDIT: Fortune is reporting that Whitmer has decided not to challenge Harris either.

$30 million and counting donated today making it one of the biggest online small dollar donation days in years, so people seem to be responding in one way at least.

I'm not sure what the point of this endorsement nonsense is since the decision is out of the voters' hands anyway.

The delegates at the convention get to cast their votes. They are all Biden team selected delegates. But legally they can vote for who ever.
So the purpose of the endorsements is to disused other democrats from pushing for an open convention.

Even though there are many contenders for biggest clown shoes in American politics, this guy is close to the top.

Probably. It takes the decision away from the people and into a smoke-filled room, which irritates me. They have weeks to put together a one day primary in all territories and states that could at least tell these bigshots what the people actually want.

After the historic stability of 3 two-term presidents in a row that’s now at least 2 one-term presidents in a row. American politics is certainly interesting to say the least.
Was just thinking the other day that this is a strange election because the anger and desire for change from the average voter is bad news for an incumbent, yet the alternative is a former incumbent representing the party that controls the house. Could be a good move for the Dems to have a fresh new candidate that can present themselves as a change against the establishment.

I don’t think that would have been at all practical to do and it would have to be done in compliance which each states rules for primary elections. Not sure if even legally they could hold a primary.

I don’t really care. They could nominate an inanimate carbon rod and I would vote for it over Trump.
In rod we trust.
