Actual arena names are long gone. Only MSG in New York, TD Garden in Boston and the Scotiabank Saddledome here are the ones with actual names. Scotiabank Place or some facsimile will be used.

That's not accurate, most of the arenas are named based on major sponsorships. Little Ceasars (Detroit), United Center (Chicago), American Airlines (Dallas) and it goes on and on.

Bell, Bridgestone, Prudential, Crypto, Canadian Tire, Wells Fargo, etc.

I think he means unique names? Like Garden or Saddledome.

Everything now seems to be Place, Arena, Centre/Center.

So its unlikely it will be the "Whatever" Corral

I think what he is saying is the "Saddledome" or unique part will be gone. Not the corporate part, that's big money for naming rights.

Isn't it a better deal for the city than the edmonton one was? IIRC, Katz retains all the revenue that the arena creates and City of Edmonton just gets more property tax value? I mean no deal like this would be great, but at face value it seems a bit more give and take
