I'll believe it when I see it.

I wonder if they've deviated much on the design at all... but good that they can finally put the shovels in the ground.

I'm old. I like old nostalgic ####, but I'm happy for the city of Calgary. I will have to attend many games the next 3 seasons.

Hopefully the new design is something with a little more character, It really is kinda sad saying goodbye to such an iconic venue

Is three years typical for construction of modern arenas?
The Saddledome took two years to build

Have we learned nothing from the Qatari World Cup?
Just get some indentured servants to build it! It'll be cheap like Borscht!

Couldn't be happier. As a lifelong Calgarian, having an entertainment/event district in that area is going to be transformative for the city.

I’d just like to see some renderings that generate some excitement and look professionally done. Dating back to CalgaryNEXT it’s appeared rushed and amateurish at best to me. This seems like a great opportunity to show off the design, features and vision to Calgarians….don’t make it look like a middle school art project again.

You’ll take your boring generic warehouse structure and you’ll like it.

I'm both pissed at the terrible deal the city agreed to for all this and VERY excited that we're finally getting a new arena.

^ I think that's one of the previous renderings, not necessarily the latest site location/orientation/elevations/etc.

I wonder if there is any chance they could be ready for the 26/27 season; maybe start the season with an extended road trip like the Isles did before the opening of UBS arena in November of whatever that year was. Maybe half the season in the Saddledome, half in the new arena
