We had over 125 mm of rain get dumped here in Toronto in the morning with about 40 mm falling in some areas within 1 hour. Multiple reports of flooding all over the GTA, heavy calls to 911 from people in danger and highways, train stations, streets all closed off.
My offices are in the financial district downtown in one of the large financial towers and while walking around the PATH with a colleague after lunch, experienced power shutdowns in multiple towers.

Well that was rough, power is back on on Toronto for us, but many still without. People were actually calm and collected, didn't see any panic where I am.
Was nice to go off grid for a few hours! Now back to mindless doom scrolling.

Storms have been a big bust so far in the Calgary area. Was hoping for some big ones to come rolling through.
I thought it would help with the heat a bit and also give my fruit trees some much needed water but it looks like we got screwed. Thanks a lot Environment Canada!
The worst thing about this weather is when taking ctrain and you get on one of the newer trains...they have that AC blasted to -40C and feels like you're standing in a Costco freezer the whole time.
And then you get off the train and it's like you're in the Amazon forest.
